I swear, I have never seen such a bunch of whiners in my life. You think this shit happens overnight?

It took GWB 8 years to run this country fully into the ground (most of it was done in the first three) and that was while he was taking vacations all the time. August in Crawford? Not for Obama. Give the guy a fucking chance, willya?

- Repairing International relations - includes meeting heads of state privately and attending major summits
- Preparing a comprehensive, workable, acceptable, health care plan
- Dealing with closing Guantanamo, and all the politics involved, and the simple details of making it happen
- Budgets, day-to-day working office organizational bullshit
- The *rare* night on the town with the wife (how many vacations did Bush have by now?)
- Public relations, stumping, all that other fun stuff
- The Economy? Maybe unemployment, collapsing real estate and employment market?

There's lots of little stuff we'll never know, and some big stuff I'm sure I'm skirting over or forgetting.

Any one of these would require at least six months. All of them? And we're all so quick to jump on him and call his presidency a failure. Shame on us! I see someone working his ass off, simultaneously trying to clean up a nasty mess left by the last administration, repair our international standing, and bring back some sense of what the Presidency ought to be (public relations). And he's not taking weeks off slacking in the sun. I bet he's lucky if he gets 45 minutes with Michelle and the girls at the end of the day (but I also bet he's just the guy to MAKE those 45 minutes for them).

I don't think we're acknowledging how lucky we have it. Don't go writing him down yet. If he drowns, it's going to because of the weight of public expectations on him that won't let him swim.
