This reminds me of some of the books I've read on lynching. I'll first by stating that lynching and hangings are two extremely different things. Blacks experienced lynchings, and even to this day you'll hear of them. While Whites experienced hangings.

I realize that I am a person who is extremely hypersensitive to such things and as such I could be reading it in a way that is slightly different. But I do find many of the people to be plain racist or at least enablers of racism---which just means their racist anyway.

That being said, when I read about how much they wanted to see his penis as a form of some sort of proof it reminded me of the acts in lynching. Where Whites who acted out, would desecrate the body after death by removing te genitalia and in some cases taking it home as souvenirs. Actually I've heard of the same being done BEFORE they killed the individual. In a way, when I think of their need for seeing that it has a macabre angle as well as sickening perversity in order to denounce how "non-human" he would be.

I just find the entire thing disgusting. Plus they don't even realize---if they don't even relate it to lynching---how much it would seem like a methodology the SS would use in order to determine who was Jewish and who was not. Circumcised most probably Jewish and rounded up (this would be the reversed). These people are disgusting, really and truly.
