10% of us do not know Hawaii is a U.S. state? No wonder we are dealing with the dazed and confused

In the Public Policy Poll posted earlier today is a gem, when polled about Obama's birthplace (besides the stunning 38% who think he was born elsewhere). Looks like quite a few think he was not born in the US...because he was born in Hawaii. No wonder some of the people cannot understand issues and can only resort to primal screams at town halls.

As the Maitre D' said to Ferris, "I weep for the future".

Yanno, when Jeff Foxworthy (or Bill Engvall, I forget which) joked about taking his redneck relatives to Hawaii for a family vacation and about them asking about changing their money to "Hawaiian money", I had no idea it wasn't more than just a joke.

14. But even if it is a state, remember what Cokey Roberts said about it being "exotic."

On one of the Sunday talk shows during the campaign she was (seriously) criticizing Obama for going to Hawaii on vacation. Too exotic she said. He should go to some beach in Maryland or Delaware, she said.
