KERRY: show us the real you!
Clinton played the sax and thrived on fast food and had a cat named Socks.
John Edwards and his wife eat at Wendy's on their anniversary.
Even Nixon had his dog, Checkers.
The elder B*sh claimed he hated broccoli, loved fried pork rinds.

What does Kerry do other than windsurfing and riding motorcycles, activities which not that many people relate to?

Does he have a pet (besides the deceased hamster)? He needs to show up somewhere in a t-shirt and show the public some of the "real" Kerry. Does he play the harmonica? Does he do jigsaw puzzles?

Come on, Kerry, you're doing great, but you need to let folks get a glimpse of the private you. I think it would help your campaign immeasurably!

And while we're at it, when are you going to do Saturday Night Live?

6. Bass (m)
September 9, 2004 (ALBANY, N.Y.) — You have probably never heard of a band called the Electras. But their vintage LP's are now going for big bucks.

It's all because of the bass player, a young guy by the name of John Kerry. The Electras recorded just one album in 1961, when Kerry was at a New Hampshire boarding school.

-------------------------

Lots of freeper commedy arising from this one. i.e. "At least he's got something to fall back on."

10. Intelligent people
like you don't require anything more than that.

But there are an awful lot of people who vote based on their gut feeling about someone, personal warmth, folksiness, etc.

Look at GWB, who is all image and no substance, with his fake ranch and his "brush-clearing" and so forth. He certainly didn't run on his success as a leader.

Kerry needs to attract the interest of all kinds of voters, and if it takes footage of him playing fetch with a dog, he has to do it.

5. He plays guitar or bass and has a dog,

a German Shepherd named Cym. I've been begging for the campaign to use pictures of John with his faithful dog, dammit. No candidate can have too many photos with dogs/cats.

9. Agree.
This shows he's human (although even Hitler had a dog...a German Shepherd...um...is this a good idea?) :D

12. Slap a Kerry/Edwards scarf or better yet
a campaign T shirt on Cym, the dog. Hitler's dog Blondie was never 'dressed' was she?

Too bad the attempted hampster murderer, Golden Retriever Winston is long dead. I've noticed that Barney has a large role in the Shrub campaign and even had his own video at the convention. So Cym isn't a Scottie, but with a little makeover, he's better than no dog, IMO.

8. Why would or should he have the do silly things to get the publics
attention...there is too much of this going on in politics...We need to know how we are going to repair this country.. How we are going to have health care, jobs, good wages. These are the things that are important..It was cute to see Clinton play the sax, but this should not be a reason we vote for a president.

14. I totally agree!! We are in some dire straights..this is no
time for warm fuzzy shit. Who gives a damn about what the man eats.

Right now, I just want a prez that can do his job; help mend the Bush made crisis in Iraq, defend our country, and put it back to work on the right track. Later for all the cutesy, homey stuff.

11. maybe the real kerry is the one you've been staring at all along.
An intellectual, honest, truthful guy who loves windsurfing and biking. A guy who can be caring towards pets but because of his life style may chose not to have one. A guy who seems to be comfortable in the company of his wife, even when she has a mind of her own and feels free to use it; therefore a guy who feels he does not need to put pressure on his wife to act this way or that way. A guy who believes in the principles of democracy and who is committed to them and who has lived a good portion of his life to uphold, promote and defend them... a guy who can be a shining star and does not need any of the bush props to make him a shining star.

just my thoughts on kerry and why i am perfectly comfortable with the status quo.

15. I agree!
The further removed from anything vaguely resembling * is fine in my book. Yes, he's a serious study as opposed to the chimp but I think that's a good thing. We NEED someone serious; I'm not voting for him for his personality.
