* Remember when MSNBC and Air America encouraged listeners to buy a gun or to engage in whatever means necessary to stop the summit?
* Remember when major corporations that stood to benefit from the protests secretly funded efforts to educate protestors on how to best disrupt the G-20 summit?
* Remember when the news media and politicians portrayed the protests as reflective of how the larger population of Americans were against George Bush's policies, global trade and industrialization?
* Remember how Democratic party operatives were actively involved in efforts to disrupt the G-20 summit? Remember how they distributed tips on how to shut down the summit?
* Remember how the mainstream media broadly embraced and publicized efforts by leftist activists to draw comparisons between George W. Bush and Hitler, and defended such comparisons as a healthy exercise of free speech?
*crickets *
No, I don't remember that either. My recollection is that leftist protestors tend to be widely condemned as radicals with most Democratic politicians taking care to distance themselves from their disruptive tactics. My recollection is that media would repeatedly refer to such protestors as rioters and vandals. My recollection is that the media rarely ever inquired as to what were the issues the protestors on the left were concerned about.
So, I really don't understand how some folks in the media, let alone on DU, are drawing parallels between the Astroturf efforts to stop healthcare reform and the actions of leftist protestors.
