Press foiled again-- Re: NK journalist release.
Edited on Tue Aug-04-09 03:03 PM by FrenchieCat
The press is not "happy" about this story of the Obama administration sending Bill Clinton as an envoy in releasing the two American Journalists. :(

The media knows that whatever Bill Clinton did, the Obama administration gave their blessing (regardless of whatever large or small role they had beyond that). We understand that Bill Clinton didn't act on this on his own, even if who knows...he may have been the one to suggest it (which is possible, since we don't know) or the one that NK president was insisting on.

The facts, as they are, is that this was an effective way of getting those captives released, period. To me, it is apparent that this was a team effort, and each player was important to the good of those who were captives.

So great Kudos to President Clinton
and Kudos to SOS Clinton
and Kudos to President Obama
and most of all, Kudos for this occuring to those Journalists

...but instead of simply reporting the facts, the media will play this decisively, Clinton vs. Obama or Clinton vs. Clinton or whatever!

the media will find some way to spin this good feeling news story into one to distort and speculate about, as opposed to, in contrast, the freeing of Private Jessica Lynch....which was spun as a Bush victory via a certified hero, and not much more! :eyes:

1. This was a perfect example of how a President SHOULD act
using all the personnel at his disposal to get the job done. It was, as you said, Frenchie, obviously a team effort. The action by the MSM just makes them more irrelevant in my eyes--they are more and more like the Enquirer every day.

finding winners and losers rather than rejoicing that the women will be free.

4. Yep!
Guess the media is gonna "work" this story
so that it can't happen again!

Hell, they don't give a fig about captured Americans,
anymore than they care about the many of us who have sub-par or
no-par Health Care Insurance.

5. General McCaffrey (Sp?) is "skeptical" of the decision to talk to NK. These idiots have no bounds.
We free two journalists who have been held for more than four months, yet Obama is talking to terrorists and evil-doers. He is caving to their power. He is letting them control the dialogue and is apologizing. These folks are seriously unhinged on a level that defies all semblance of any logic I have ever understood.

6. Look to Tweety to do exactly as you predict.
Anything that involves the Clintons drives him over the edge.

He'll be mining this for any whiff of controversy he can find instead of just accepting the plain simple fact that everyone worked together, in concert, happily and with the expressed permission and go ahead coming from President Obama.

8. Bill Clinton...helping to release former hostages, George Bush, playing golf and
probably scratching his ass. Effective use of a former President who was popular in the world in the 90's.

9. Yep.
David Schuster and Tamron Hall were already doing this. According to them, this proves how weak Hillary is that her husband had to come in and do her job. Then they read a statement from John Bolton (this is dangerously close to negotiating with terrorist) and only allowed the Republican pundit to comment.

The media is only happy when they are stirring up controversy.
