April 19, 1995

Until that day, we all laughed at the "militia types" that were forming in opposition to Bill Clinton and his Presidency.

They were a joke. Late night comics made fun of the camoflauge-wearing imbeciles prancing around in the Michigan woods.

Then, on April 19th.... Timothy McVeigh murdered 168 innocent people and we stopped laughing.

Right now... we're laughing at the birthers.

Just saying....

3. redneck militants, Tiller's assassin, and birthers are all apples from the same tree

These aren't separate issues or people, but a core of uneducated, brainwashed sheep that the Limbaughs and the Coulters can issue their indirect marching orders to.

4. Yes, I was just thinking, we've all had a good laugh -- now it's time to truly address this.
For starters, regarding the memo that was sent out by the "volunteer" at FreedomWorks with "best practices" on how to disrupt town halls -- wouldn't exhorting others to disrupt public events to the point where legislators have to be escorted out for their own safety be against some existing law?

What can done about this? Can a complaint be filed with the U.S. Attorney General in the state where FreedomWorks is based?

I don't think this should be a laughing matter either, it should be taken seriously.

8. Good point. It's not the birthers who scare me so much, but
the nutjobs turning up at town meetings yelling down elected officials are another thing. I hope they have to go through metal detectors to get into these things.

9. Rec'd. I've been known to mock the Birthers on occasion but seriously
there is not one damn thing funny about these people.
