Lou Dobbs has been throwing rocks at big targets (or as some people say pebbles at mirages) for some time. But taking the "Most Respected Name in News" into the morass of birther lunatics on the air has pulled him into the spotlight and gained some unwanted attention.

Dobbs stands by his reading of the internet role in establishing reasonable questions, "A lot of questions remaining because they have not been dealt with reasonably".

Now Dobbs becomes a focus of internet inquiry

Now sources close to Joseph Hansen's family have given me what appears to be a diary. In this diary it contains details about a trip that Farrell Dobbs (Lou has changed his dad's name to Frank in his official biography to avoid the resulting scandal) took to Mexico a few years before Lou Dobbs was born.

Dobbs met the Russian revolutionary leader Leon Trotsky when he visited Mexico shortly before Trotsky's death in 1940.

During this visit Farrell Dobbs had become violently ill with gastronomical distress and was taken to a nearby clinic. Shortly thereafter Ramon Mercardor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram%C3%B3n_Mercader drove an ice pick into the head of Trotsky. The guards returning with the now treated Dobbs caught the assassin and at Trotsky's behest did not kill him but handed him over to authorities.

There was considerable criticism and speculation of Farrell Dobbs that he was part of the NKVD and a planned diversion that finally enabled the NKVD to kill Trotsky after so many attempts.

While the question of Farrell Dodd's ideological purity as a Trotskyite would remain a controversy until his death it was widely known that Farrell Dodd continued to live in hiding in Mexico and that is where Lou Dobbs was born.

Lou Dobbs was unavailable for comment as we took this story to press.

He was supposed to be a bodyguard for Trotsky, who was being targeted by Stalinists because Trotsky was critical of Stalin. After being exiled from Russia in 1935, Trotsky moved to France and then Norway before going to Mexico in '38 where he lived with Diego Rivera (the muralist) and his wife Frita Kahlo (the artist). Trotsky has an affair with Kahlo. Ferrell Dobbs also visited Cuba after Castro, met with Che too. Is Ferrell Dobbs the father of Lou? Or is Lou's dad named Frank? Frank Dobbs who also had dealings in Mexico. Was Lou born in Mexico? Did Ferrell Dobbs screw Frita Kahlo? Did Diego Rivera watch? Questions that need answering Lou!~

7. It makes you wonder what else Lou is hiding

It is also known that Lou is married to a Mexican.

Maybe all his bashing of immigrants is the same kind of self hating recrimination that we saw in history by some who tried to hide their Jewish lineage by attacking Jews or some in more recent history that tried to hide their real background by attacking gays, ala J. Edgar.

Could all of this bashing of illegal immigration simply be Dodds acting out because of the scandals of his past.


Lou could settle this with some clear documents, not the fakes that he has provided so far.

Lou Dobbs was born in September 1945 the son of a small town Texas propane dealer. Farrell Dobbs was the National Secretary of the Socialist Workers Party, and was imprisoned in Michigan until after the end of World War Two. (I am prepared, however, to entertain the possibility that Lou Dobbs is J.R. "Bob" Dobbs.)

Farrell Dobbs, the son of a coal miner, was born in Queen City, Missouri in 1907. After being educated at North High School in Minneapolis he moved to North Dakota in search of work. At this time he held conservative political views and supported the Republican Party and in 1928 voted for Herbert Hoover.

Dobbs worked for the Pittsburgh Coal Company in Minneapolis and as a member of the Teamsters became involved in an industrial dispute in 1934. Dobbs was radicalized by the strike and soon afterwards joined the Communist League of America, a organization influenced by the ideas of Leon Trotsky.

In 1936 Dobbs became recording secretary of Teamsters Local 574 and by the following year it had 125,000 members. Eventually the president of the Teamsters, Dan Tobin, recruited Dobbs as a national organizer but in 1939 he decided to work full-time for the Socialist Workers Party (SWP).

Dobbs travelled to Mexico to meet Leon Trotsky in 1940. Soon after arriving back in the United States he was arrested under the Alien Registration Act. He was detained in Sandstone Prison (MI) and was not released until after the end of the Second World War.

After his release Dobbs became editor of The Militant and replaced James Cannon as national secretary of the Socialist Workers Party in 1953.

Dobbs was the SWP's presidential candidate in 1960 but received only 60,166 votes. He retired as the SWP's national secretary in 1972 and died on 31st October, 1983.
