Let's demand Bush administration be investigation in document scandal.
The content of the actual documents was essentially the same as those presented and the content was well known and verifiable by plenty of people, including Killian's secretary. The actual documents would have destroyed Bush. Who had access to the documents? Who was ultimately in charge - not the Democrats. Bush is the commander-in-chief. He is also the one who had the most to gain from switching the documents. If the switched documents were close to the originals, CBS would talk with people who would verify that documents containing that content were authentic and then air the switched documents. Even those those doubting the authenticity of the shown documents have verified the contents, that is not what is making news. What is making news are unproven allegations that they were forged or faked. This gives Bush a pass on his desertion and is the only thing that would have given him a pass. His people are falsely accusing Kerry. Let's point the finger at the person who had the ability to switch the documents and the most to gain from the switch. George w. Bush.

1. Lets drop it and move on.
There is nothing to be gained in this. It is a dead issue and it is grinding the news cycle to a hault. We need to get Kerry's message out. An investigation into memos would take untill next spring.

2. I want to know the truth about this. Drop it if you want but I won't.

"Drop it", is that like "get over it?"

I was freaked that a blogger could come up with what he did about the memos in such a short time. I was further amazed that the right wing blast fax league had this story all over the media that afternoon as did the freeps.

I'm further amazed that a wing nut, Roger Stone, may be behind this.

Drop it? Hell no. I want the truth.

On edit,

Burkett went straight to the Kerry campaign with the documents and was told to go elsewhere.

8. You tell them Mountain Man!
Bush was a DUD! We who did our time want to know! This all leads to one question! Would you hire a liar and a coward? Hook Bush up to a polygraph, corporations do it to people all the time, when they apply for a job!

I wish I'd known I could just quit the Army and go home the way Bush quit the TANG! I'd have gone the first day! I'll bet a lot of troopers in Iraq would go home too, if they knew they'd get a good discharge! * FTA!

4. Oh, I hope it gets reeeeal ugly.
And the ugly turns on the ugly pukes.

Let's keep this one alive as long as possible.

I think Rove et. al. reached the point of hubris when they decided to take on Rather. This one ain't gonna die.

Let's watch some freeper heads explode when it turns back on the repukes who set up Rather.

5. Thanks!
If it bothers you enough to comment, then I guess we should pursue the truth. Fact is, the content has not been refuted. Since forgeries seem to be a core competency in this administration, I believe CBS has the motivation and capabilities to find out where the forgeries came from. If it's the road back to the White House, then we return to Bush's character problems, his missing ANG obligation, and possible criminal charges.

10. CBS is a chance to get an independent investigation at last!
An investigation that Bush has no control over! The Freepers are restless!

7.  I agree, its pretty obvious that they want us to drop it for fear
of it touching Kerry, therefore the attack against CBS and Rather only a smoke screen to their realy underlying intent, I don't think we should play into that, its rather a simple tactic and easily outmanuevered when Bush has yet to provide credible evidence that the what was inside the memos to be untrue, for one who claims to be such a strong leader in times of war, this issue should be very much kept alive...

11. The thing is, even if the memos are forged, the content is not....
And for a man claiming to be the only one credible of leading us in a time of war, the contents are definately worth taking note of, these are very dangerous times and someone with such low character could only increase these dangers..that in itself is obviously not worthy of debating, the last couple of years are proof of such..
