They will take orders from their Dear Leader, Rush Limbaugh.

All Rush has to do is say take to the streets, and they will be out shooting us immediately.

Batshit crazy!

There are a number of currently deployed soldiers in my family and friends family. And those men have friends in the military, too When the time is right we will tell them to come home and help defend the constitution they swore to defend. Others here need to get the word out to their sons and daughters and nephews, etc. Don’t let them die inthe sand in a nation that is the friend of their so- called commander in chief.
..................................................................................

I am Clamper1797 and I will defend this with my life this republic against those of you who have sought and are now presently it’s destruction ... thru your Crap and Traitor bill your stinkulus bill and now the final straw this ill health bill. The time for talk is QUICKLY coming to an end
...................................................................................

May we peacefully gather in our towns and cities with our rifles and guns?

Imagine millions of law-abiding, fed-up citizens across the land - assembling, vocalizing, and visually exercising their rights in defense of the Constitution.

Isn’t that our right, Jim? Isn’t that our right, guaranteed by the 2nd Ammendment of the Constitution? We do have the right to keep and bear arms, assemble, and engage in free speech in a peaceful manner, right?
...................................................................................

I am %1000 behind you sir. Now , what do we do , for real , concretely , when they sign this bill? I’m dead serious . I have been calling for civil unrest . I don’t know if that’s what you have in mind. This al has gone way way too far.We need a leader , an organizer, someone who can pull all the anti Obama group who are out there together. Organization is the key. The Left used it and uses it well till today. Ideas , suggestions ?
I will offer money and time to any cause that is serious and AGGRESSIVE
.....................................................................................

Organize it Jim . Where are the millionaires ? Why aren’t they buying TV ad time on every station and educating the public. Where is the small business associations? They are the 1st to get screwed, they have the $$$ right now to take full page adds out in every national paper . Why aren’t they organizing and using their millions to fund anti Obama rallies ? . I don’t get it ?
As for the common guy ( me and you all I suppose ) we need a leader , someone with excellent organizational skills. I’m ready to go to DC with a bat in my hand right now. BUT WE NEED HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS to participate. Or else forget it !

Time for the SONS OF LIBERTY to arise!

57. Some do. Some do not.
If we want to discuss this issue, let's avoid broad generalizations. Not everything done by a Republican or a conservative was done for some nefarious reason, just as not everything done by a Democrat or a liberal/progressive was done with the greater good of society in mind.

But, of course, you already knew that.

49. Thats not a stab
at real home schooling. if you have ever seen real right wing christian homeschooling, the stuff those kids get fed vs real academics would make your skin crawl and your jaw drop. That's what i'm poking fun at. Truth be told, when the wife and i have kids we are probably going to home school them. When you grow up in Northeast hickville texas, public schools are a truly fucked up establishment.

54. I agree. I started home-schooling because of the LDS bias
that exists in so many of Utah's public schools. The teachers are nice, and mean well, but are so accustomed to LDS predominance that they often forget that there are children in class who are not LDS, who do not have family members who go on mission, who do not attend ward (local church group) activities, and who do not understand the various cultural references that come from following generations of family members who have grown up in the church.

Edited on Sun Jul-19-09 05:08 PM by demwing
But it is hard to deny that as an educational choice, home-schooling has an unduly negative rap here at DU.

When we discuss the issue rationally, most people are respectful, even when they disagree. Then the conversations end, time passes, and "home-school" once again becomes synonymous with right-wing religious extremism. The home-schooled are thought of as less intelligent, and the home schoolers are thought of as deviant. As a home-schooling parent, I've even been told (here at DU) that I'm contributing to the destruction of the public school system.

Home-schooling is about choice, and you'll find many progressive parents who make that choice, and are active here at DU. We are proud of our children, protective, and after a time, some of us have become sensitive to the attempts at humor.

62. Ok, you may be right. But If they were "home skooled," it's too bad they weren't home-schooled
by parents with a brain that wasn't permanently tuned to the local EIB frequency, with Fox News certified curriculum provided by Professors Hannity and Coulter.

Reading these rantings reminds me of reading a new Stephen King novel, full of interesting and hopelessly stupid people that are simultaneously funny and frightening, with a plot that winds up on itself, and a lopsided word to point ratio. Logic? What logic?

Fun to read while on a bus or a toilet, but not very deep and not worth serious review.

6. Are they really planning on standing around en masse in public, with their guns,
speaking out in protest against national health care??

What is the implication? What are they going to do? What are the guns meant to imply? There's only one thing I can think of that they are meant to imply: that if something doesn't go their way, or something happens that they don't want to happen, or someone tries to force them to do something they don't want to do, they are going to start shooting.

WHAT are they going to shoot? WHO are they going to shoot?

I mean, this is HEALTH CARE! Are they going to shoot doctors? Are they going to shoot hospitals and clinics? If they get sick, are they going to shoot anyone who tries to take them in for the kind of treatment they would get under national coverage?

Don't they even THINK??? (I know, that was a dumb question.)

Edited on Sat Jul-18-09 10:16 AM by KansDem
The media reporter interviewed some freeper-types in the parking lot outside the Miami-Dade offices where the recount was progressing. During the course of the interview, one of the guys said they wanted to be sure the recount came out as it was supposed to and if it didn't, they had guns in their their trunks.

It was a little nebulous but we were left to make the inference...

29. They're afraid that, if we do get comprehensive, good, affordable
national health care, it will prove every stupid thing they have been saying for decades, was wrong.

There will be no going back. The smarter ones realize this. If the gov. offers a gov. option, FREE CHOICE (they love the free market, after all) and it works, the gov. plan will prove to be so much better than the private ones, then the private plans will go out of business.

Obama is offering another option. Let's see if republicans have been telling the TRUTH for all these years.

Further more, they're far from anonymous---that's the greatness of an IP address and when you threaten the life of the President---because through their statements...that's what they plan. You don't go to the White House to protest (safely) with guns, bats, or any other "weapon".

24. It's always like that, out here in NE, I hear the locals whining about
"welfare". A single parent w/2 kids tries to make do on some $300 a month in cash aid, a couple of hundred in USDA Food Stamps. They are "killing us all with their government checks"...and yet, when I ask if anyone returned their $125,000 subsidy check for letting their fields go fallow, or another because the price of grain dropped, well that's a "whole 'nother thing"...:grr:

The bottom line...it's only a problem if "someone else" is getting something, it never applies when a recipient of funds gets something for nothing.

2. A single mother (read that to mean "slut")
3. Someone else not on the officially-sanctioned list off good humans.

I am so sick of these freaks I could scream. I live in a freeperish area now, and my work is filled with nuts like this. My fave was the single mother who voted for republicans and, when I pointed out that they wanted to CUT the funds to the state's Medicaid program for poor kids, she had a DUH-WTF moment. I mean, DO THEY NOT THINK OF THE CONSEQUENCES OF THEIR ACTIONS EVEN FOR THEMSELVES? She does not earn enough, even working full time, to afford the employer-sponsored health insurance at our job.

So, she realized that she would be cutting her own and her kid's throats. Sheesh. Darwin in action. Oh, well.

"my grandfather did it that way" stuff...to which I answer, "if progress is so bad, how come you're not out ther w/a scythe cutting down your corn instead of a GPS equipped combine?"

So many of these people have no concept of anything they are talking about. They sit in an air conditioned, GPS controlled combine that even computes how much money is going into the hopper each row/field/day, listening to Limbaugh and Beck on the radio, never realizing just how much the government is actually subsidizing their effort.but that single mother, often abused and w/o even the basics to keep a roof over her head is lambasted as some kind of "leech"...:grr:

We have one guy oputside of town that received over $250,000 per year, just to let his fields go fallow to get most of the chemicals out of the soil because they had reached toxic levels...he got this $ for the past 5 years...that's 1.25 million dollars for doing nothing. He's also a big R supporter...wonder why...x(

Not by themselves; for the most part they're gutless cowards. But they create a hot-house environment, where dangerous psychopaths can get energized until they suddenly take action. Does anyone here have a complete list of all the murderers who have been Freek Republic posters?

But their "mass actions" are a real joke! Only a scrawny handful, barely outnumbering the Porta-Potties they had so optimistically rented! I wish I could find those images I once had of them at Camp Casey (Cindy Sheehan) or at DC!

34. I know why they are protesting
i figured it out. Really.

You see, if we get government run health care, that gives the feds permission to inject us with super microchips that satellites can track our movements with.

Damned illuminatti.

But they would deny their family and themselves a lifetime of good healthcare out just to appease the conservative beast.

privately they will rush out and sign up for it. It is how they do things.

43. what a visual
Consider the image of 50 - or even 20 - or even TEN - people armed with guns and rifles and assault weapons walking down the street towards the White House. What do they think will happen?

OMG.

They are beyond stupid. There isn't even a word to describe them. The 1st time I've ever considered the English language inadequate.

44. The FBI used scores of agents for months
in a national investigation of those few anarchy folks just because they threatened to block an intersection at the GOP national convention and broke some windows once in Seattle. If all political groups are treated equally then there will be at least hundreds of agents investigating the freepers.

And, when one supports doing {insert everything Obama/Democrats are accused of doing}... then that is precisely what one will immediately suspect that all others are trying to do.

This rant reads like the worst fears of a "they're trying to do unto us before we can do unto them!!" hysteric.

On the other hand... if the Freeper-types do "rise up", then maybe I'll have a chance to shoot some and get away with it legally... :tinfoilhat:

I suppose it's only okay to "spend ourselves into the grave" so long as it's not here at home helping out our own. Is there any wonder why this group is the minority?

They want to blow up the entire Middle East and basically the rest of the world (including minorities) here if they could. War is good.

50. let em
Once Ive got health care, I would be willing to personally put down their "insurrection". Course, all that would require is standing at the top of the stairs and refusing to let them out of their mommas basement with their hand sharpened "throwing stars"(formerly known as washers) and mail order airsoft guns.

when they get the everloving shit beaten out of them in the insurrection...broken bones, contusions, knocked out teeth, concussions...

Do they think the cops are gonna stand around and let them raise holy hell in the streets?

67. No one ever mentions this. ...
Freepers + Republicans decry such health care as being Socialist.

And yet every one of their Congressmen/women get free, government-subsidized health care (as well as haircuts, franking, etc.).

Will someone please explain to me and them why that is OK, yet universal health care for me and you is Socialist and consequently a thing of the devil?

How can, for instance, Republicans argue that what they get is poison for their constituents?

I'd really like to know.

70. Because if one receives something from the government, it's fine...
Edited on Mon Jul-20-09 05:43 PM by rasputin1952
but if someone else receives something from the government, it is evil.

I almost got shot once bringing this up to a farmer here in Nebraska. He was complaining about "welfare mothers", yet he received $250,000 a year for 5 years while his land went fallow to ensure a decline in pesticide and chemical levels In 5 years, he received $1.25 million dollars for sitting on his ass complaining, while a mother of 2 received some $325 per month, or $19,500 over 5 years to provide shelter and clothing for her kids. Somehow, this woman was scamming the system, but this bastard was not...go figure.

In 5 years, he gained some 75#'s, complained of chest pains and had no intention of going back to farming, he played the markets, made a killing and is just sitting around, complaining about others. He's also a die hard R...7 years ago, he was on the verge of losing his farm at auction, then he "found out" a program to clean up the soil...:eyes:

The Presidential security detail will kill the lot (all 10-15 of them that actually show up) the instant one of them produces a gun.

And good riddance. Anyone stupid enough to advocate violent uprising at the thought of all American citizens GETTING health care...well, we're better off without them.

Some time late in January I warmed to their idea that criticizing the president in a time of war is giving aid and comfort to the enemy. Dunno what made the difference; it had always seemed like bullshit before. *shmile*

Actions will ALWAYS speak louder than words! I’ve been waiting for either a serious and successful revolution, or a serious and successful civil war to actually occur for several months and counting! Seriously waiting until after even more leftist legislation is put into place is too late to do anything about it! There’s already way too much leftist legislation in place, thanks to FDR onwards, and there’s seriously no signs of any of it really being either eliminated, or really turned into pro-conservative, pro-capitalistic, and pro-free market solutions instead!
