Michelle Obama's father buried at Burr Oak
July 14, 2009 11:35 AM | No Comments

First Lady Michelle Obama's father, Fraser Robinson III, is buried at Burr Oak Cemetery, the Alsip facility involved in a grave desecration scandal, according to a White House spokeswoman.

There was no indication whether Robinson's grave was among those disturbed. Camille Johnston, the first lady's communications director, disclosed that Robinson was buried there but declined to comment further.

Fraser Robinson III was a pump operator for the water department in Chicago and a Democratic party precinct captain who battled multiple sclerosis. He died in 1991 from complications from multiple sclerosis.

Michelle Obama's mother, Marian Robinson, moved from the South Side to the White House when her son-in-law, Barack Obama, was inaugurated in January.

1. Chances are he was.
Reports that are coming from the Sheriffs Department is they have only uncovered the tip of the iceberg. Older graves was more likely to have been desecrated than newer ones.

4. I'm still waiting on news about my Grandfather and a few other relatives buried there
The last thing I heard was that they couldn't find his records.

7. They said the "records" are a nightmare
When they even exist.

"Unlike previous disasters where names and identities of survivors were available to compare DNA samples from bodies, the cemetery records at Burr Oak are in such disarray they don't know who was buried there, Rice said."

I'm sorry. :(

5. Perhaps that was the main reason why this happened?

6. No, this was a money scam
They have been crushing multiple bodies into single graves for quite some time and when they ran out of room they started digging them up and dumping them.

Just a sad coincidence.

10. this happens more than you think
back when i lived in MD there was a small local cemetery accused of doing this...the cemetery had been built in the late 50s but strangely ALL the death dates on the gravestones were less than 10-15 years old :scared:

way in the far corner of the cemetery was a house-sized mountain of dirt; one would assume for landscaping purposes -- i didn't dare get too close to it or wonder what it was covering up :scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared::scared:
