I wrote Feinstein an email in which I criticize her for publicly undermining Obama
Universal health care plan. I told her that if she believes what she says, that it doesn't have a chance of passing, that her job is to start convincing her colleagues to vote for it. That she should be heading the effort to support her party's President in his efforts to bring health care to all Americans.

Her response was exactly what she always does. She talks about how important it is to have health care yet never fucking answers me. Here's the email response I received from her because Feinstein is the consummate politician who says all the right things without saying a single goddamn thing to address anything. She's all smooth and oily talk and never says anything. And she's a great example of what 99% of politicians do. This is a good thing for us to know and accept and incorporate into our thinking and our expectations because until we understand them and their motives we will continue to be jerked around by their lies.

Dear Ms. Lunatica:

Thank you for contacting me to express your support for universal health
insurance. I appreciate the time you took to write and welcome the
opportunity to respond.

I believe that there is much room for improvement in our nation's
healthcare system. I am deeply concerned that so many individuals and
families in our country do not have access to quality healthcare. This
is a problem that touches every community and must be addressed at many
different levels including the Federal, State and local government.

I recognize that the large number of people who lack health insurance is
a critical problem facing our country. I find it unacceptable that 47
million people in our country are without health insurance. This
problem is especially acute in California, where nearly 7 million people
are uninsured.

The escalating cost of some premiums continues to make obtaining health
insurance difficult, if not impossible, for many Americans. I am working
hard to remove existing barriers to health care so that all Americans
have access to the services they require. There is no excuse for the
inaccessibility of health care, and insurance should be available for
all people. Please know that I will keep your comments in mind as I
review health care reform proposals in the Senate.

Again, thank you for writing. If you have any further
questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact my Washington,
D.C. office at (202) 224-3841. Best regards.

Sincerely yours,

Dianne Feinstein
United States Senator

Fuck you Senator

1. she's my senator too -- and yes - she NEVER directly
answers her communications from her constituents.

2. Do any of them?
I think the staff of any sitting congress person has a form letter for each topic. For all the response letters I have received over the years, not one was a direct response - except for one I sent to Senator Obama in 2005. He declined an invitation to an event and wished our group well in its efforts.

5. That's one reason why I posted her response
I'm hoping that it can serve as a good example of how most politicians just manipulate us with empty promises and useless rhetoric while doing what the corporate lobbyists want which is almost always against our best interests. I knew from years of painful experience that this would be the response I would get from her which is why I refuse to vote for her ever. I'm hoping others will get the message I'm trying to impart and start being more picky about who they vote for.

But maybe that's a losing proposition what with all the corporate influence in their lives. People just don't know how Feinstein votes only to make sure her husband gets government contracts.

9. I think the only way to get around that is to just increase
the emails, letters and phone calls. I know I am frustrated as all get out today with my rep who is a blue dog. At least I have Durbin. At least he votes in support of what I care about.

7. Same here
Got the same generic response from my Democratic Senator.
I asked for their support for a strong public option.
The words public or option didn't appear one time in the reply.

3. she is an annyoying POS, isn't she
I have spent many hours contacting her with the same sort of results. Every once in awhile she will do the right thing after many many calls and letters from lots of constituents, but she is a definite piece of work

6. At this point I just want to expose her for the self-serving shit she is
My disdain for her started when she voted for the Patriot Act claiming that if she had voted what her constituents wanted she would have voted against it, but that she voted for it because she 'knew things'.....

I truly believe she voted for it because in some way it benefited her husband and her by extension financially.

I truly loath her

15. if I were'nt so hot, I would loathe her
but it would take too much energy. But she is a POS and I can't stand her and tell her staff that on a regular basis.

4. When I realized Feinstein's e-mail responses
are all canned, I stopped e-mailing and started calling her D.C. office. And I always tell the staffer that I don't appreciate a "form e-mail" which is why I'm calling.

I took to heart Thom Hartmann's advice to call rather than e-mail - more effective.

10. In person she's worse.
My old office was directly across the street from her non political office and down the street from her husband's office on Montgomery Street, SF, back in the 80's & early 90's.

I had many encounter with DiFi and her squire. None of them were good. She ejected commands to us lumpen proletariat like a privileged pez dispenser. Haughty, bitchy and extremely rude are too light weight to describe DiFi in her private moments. Most of us who worked in the area and encountered her regularly during her post mayoral years quickly grew to loathe and despise her. When she got elected senator it removed her from the area.

I will not vote for any republicans ever and that's the only reason she's received my votes.

out of her limo when she was campaigning to meet the little people. She was just too good for that.
He called her a limosine liberal.

12. That was quite a noncommittal letter Feinsten wrote.
You have no idea what the hell she is planning on doing.

Yet judging from Feinstein's voting record for the last couple of years I am sure her vote will favor the health insurance companies, and not favor Democratic principles or the American people either.

I wish it were possible to recall her. She has become Joe Liberman's evil twin.

14. But she sure can sound concerned can't she?
She's got the language down to a smooth as silk non committal response. It's like she tries to masturbate you when she responds.

whether she answers or not..if she gets enough of those she might get the message.

16. At least you got a response
I e-mailed her to for the very first time last week after I heard what she said on CNN and I have received no response from either of her offices since I sent my e-mail to both. I was very happy to see however, MoveOn.org's commercial targeting her a couple of days ago.
