Green Day rocked "Clash" hard. What a political night 4 Letterman...
Green day was an awesome follow up to JK. Plenty of anger and energy. And those "I'm no redneck lyrics".. This is a culture war and I'm proud of them staying true to the fuck fascism politics that was always at Punk rock's roots. Very, Clash/Jam. I'm sure many punk voters/college kids/mall rats tuned in.

No association to JK if that's what you were worried about. No hi-fives, no overlap, nothing. They did play Americn Idiot. I haven't paid much attention to G-DAY, in years. And being a fan of Punk's first and second wave, I always liked them but now I can say, they have matured but are still plenty raw. They were monster.

5. it's definitely what I was worried about...
him being offstage blunts most of the possible RW exploitation...

4. Perfect timing of American Idiot release. Yes the campaign has an anthem!
Green day will sink the chickenhawk furer with this platinum album.

6. I dunno about the Clash...
but, they are definitely starting to rip off the Jam's vibe.

7. the political subject matter reminded me of Clash. And they acted like
the Jam but their guitarsman does not compare. Those first three Jam albums are my fave. in the city, all mod cons and I forgot the third.
