He and his mom went towards the stage as Obama was going around shaking hands. He hesitated, but I told them both to not hesitate and go for it. The last I saw Obama was gaining ground, so I doubt he got to the President. MY student didn't skip out, . . . all I'm sayin'. I plan to write the White House, thank them for making it possible for this boy to see and hear the President, but also as if a future meeting is possible.

I Had a teacher like you growing up.

He passed away a couple of years ago, but As I have been reading your threads, you remind me of this man. He never brought me to see the president. but he taught me about Civil liberites. He taught me about our country... He changed my life.

I believe that you changed this boy's life by telling him (and his fellow students) that yes, learning and studying works. You are one of the many teachers that I celebrate. Little Barack got a life lesson today -- and you as a teacher should be honored for it.

Thank you for what you do. I still miss the man that taught me what you are giving that little man. Teachers make a difference. Salute.
