Flapping their gums about how "government run healthcare has been a disaster everywhere it's tried" and "people don't like it".

but what about the ridiculous amount of money one has to pay for a couple of hours in ER if you are uninsured? Of course, conservatives don't give a damn about those of us that can't afford health insurance.

A government run program would be something like the VA system where the facilities are government owned and the providers government employees.

A single payer system, which is what most of us want (except members of Congress) is ike Medicare. Providers in a single payer system are not government employees.

They also "pay" less money per person than we do, and yet their people are healthier and live longer.

The French model, with a mix of private and public plans and financing, is what President Obama is trying to achieve here.
