"Fear Factor" 101 being played by the Republicans
That is all they have.. FEAR!!.. They so royally screwed up everything in the last 8 years, that they cannot even come up with an idea for solving issues. But Fear of what is under the bed, in the closet, behind the closed door.. that they are very good at.

And as one local right wing activist shared at a meeting, (being in the position I am, I cannot let my politics be known), they think that not only using fear of anything we are trying to do works for republicans, but it also works on democrats and liberals.

As this blowhard was so willing to share.. They think Democrats will fold like a cheap tent, because we always do (in his view). To them, they can even change the name of our party and how we identify ourselves and we are too weak to fight it.

Sometimes I know it seems like that, but this time, it is not going to work. We are not going to fold like a cheap tent and be reactive to everything and every lie the righters pull out. We are going to persevere and bring this country back up off its knees.

It will take time, but it will happen.

I have to admit, sometimes it is good to just be quiet and watch the other side plot and scheme. It gives a person a real view into the heart of darkness.

I wonder how many other people at that conference were watching that with the same thought.

3. Weak Democrats?
Edited on Tue Jun-09-09 10:31 AM by Puzzler
Well yes, some of the time many Dems do seem to lack the political will/spine to see things through. However, I think the main reasons many Dems seem weak in the eyes of wingnuts, is that Dems prefer to debate issues and do not necessarily march lockstep with each issue. That's good, Dems don't always see things in simplistic black and white, us vs. them terms.

4. If you ever had to sit and listen in person to one of these zeros expound
that is their assessment. Thing of it is, they really believe it. And they so think they have our number.. which in and of itself is the Achilles heel of their downfall. I never underestimate anyone, even them.. but the reason they have lost the last two elections is because of their assumptions. They really do think they are heart and center of everything.
