Ashcroft's Justice Dept intimidating minority voters.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A34109-2004Sep19.html?referrer=Demail

Today's Washington Post reports on efforts being made in several states to suppress minority votes.

Jeb Bush pulled this kind of crap last month by sending state investigators into black neighborhoods in Tampa to "investigate absentee ballot irregularities."

These turds just can't win an election on a level playing field. And Ashcroft's born-again Christian piety adds to the tons of stench the GOP left in Madison Square Garden in NY.

The most profound thought I can conjure up about these people is, Fuck 'em all.

1. That's horrible.
Wow. I had no idea they were being this direct.

Which race does this administration most hate? I am thinking they really seem to have it out for the hispanic population.

2. For the most part, it's black voters who are being targeted,
however, the answer to the question, "which race does this administration most hate?" the most reasonable answer I can come up with is, the human race.

6. First the minority vote, then the non-christian vote....then the .....
First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out - because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the communists
and I did not speak out - because I was not a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out - because I was not a trade unionist.

Then they came for me -
and by then there was no one left to speak out for me.

Pastor Martin Niemöller

This shit has to be stopped. ALL people need to stand against this crap. :grr:

7. Reality is that Bush's elitist agenda cannot go forward if
the masses vote. His policies support the wealthy few at the expense of the masses and therefore he WILL be defeated if sufficient numbers exercise their right to vote.

Bush (and Rove) know that, and as a result will do anything they can to suppress voting by the masses and/or otherwise insure that the real results are not reported.

Here are some other articles on this issue, with the most recent first....

http://query.nytimes.com/gst/abstract.html?res=F20813FF345A0C7A8EDDA10894DC404482

This is also the reason that the Bush administration is determined to demoralize Kerry supporters through any means necessary. A smaller turnout increases the chances of Bush being elected.

The moral of the story: Don't get discouraged and do everything you can to encourage people to vote! If we can drive a large turnout, we will drive to victory!
