Obama did not call on Fox News
http://www.politico.com/blogs/michaelcalderone/

Earlier today, President Obama talked to a St. Louis audience about "certain news channels" where he's not very popular, and during his third prime-time news conference, he called on all the major networks but one.

Similar to his first two East Room pressers, Obama called on 13 reporters. But unlike last time, the major newspapers got a chance to question the president.

Obama skipped around, too, ignoring the traditional White House protocol that begins with the wires before leading to the networks.

Here's the run-down: Jennifer Loven (Associated Press), Deb Price (Detroit News), Jake Tapper (ABC), Mark Knoller (CBS Radio), Chuck Todd (NBC), Jeff Mason (Reuters), Chip Reid (CBS), Ed Henry (CNN), Jeff Zeleny (New York Times), Lori Montenegro (Telemundo), Andre Showell (BET), Michael Scherer (Time), and Jonathan Weisman (Wall Street Journal).

1. Yep. This is how he'll be handling them from now on, I hope. They
don't want to air his presser, he doesn't want to talk to them.

2. Their reporter would have asked some asinine question like,
"Do you and Michele sacrifice virgins and babies before you drink human blood at dinner or after?"

15. Fox News, Fixed Noise.....Obama will make sure they are
irrelevant by 2011, after several more Republicans lose in 2010.

Fox News will be labelled as an arm of the Right Wing of the Republican Party by 2010.........they will just go down hill from there.

3. The Republicans only have 39 Senators
We don't need to waste valuable time answering questions from people whose intent is to delay and obstruct the business of Congress.

5. Screw Fox.
They are not a news organization.

They are hacks. They don't deserve to be taken seriously.

8. Good. Why should he call on them? And I think all Democrats and progressive independents should
boycott and not agree to appear on any Fox News interviews.

17. Last press conference, Garrett asked a question filled with "socialist"
and "communist" about a world currency. He was just throwing red meat to the wingnuts with talking points straight from Minnesota nutbag Michelle Bachmann. Here's the question he asked:

Good evening, Mr. President. Thank you. Taking this economic debate a bit globally, senior Chinese officials have publically expressed an interest in international currency. This is described by Chinese specialists as a sign that they are less confident than they used to be in the value and the reliability of the U.S. dollar. European countries have resisted your calls to spend more on economic stimulus. I wonder, sir, as a candidate who ran concerned about the image of the United States globally, how comfortable you are with the Chinese government, run by Communists, less confident than they used to be in the U.S. dollar, and European governments, some of them center-left, some of them Socialist, who say you're asking them to spend too much.

14. Well Fox isn't a news network so no wonder he didn't call on them......
They're entertainment, nothing but a bunch of clowns, good on Obama for not calling on them. I hope he never calls on them, in fact they shouldn't even be allowed in the conference room imo.

16. FOX IS DONE ... as far as this administration is concerned.
Edited on Wed Apr-29-09 09:36 PM by President Decider
All bets are off now .... President Obama and his administration is going to start treating them like they're the epicenter of the Swine Flu.

No questions ...

No interviews ....

No access ....

No exclusive stories ....

= NO FOX NEWS

It is already quickly becoming labled a "staged entertainment" vehicle on par with the cult following much like you see with people that follow professional wrestling.
