Poll question: Reno-era Torture memos uncovered
Well....not really.

But let's play this out. If torture memos came to light detailing information extracting techniques on key operatives captred in the Balkans known to be involved in genocide that were sanctioned by AG Reno. WOuld you insist on a trial for her and her minions? Should Clinton be shackled and brought to the Hague? Should HRC step down?

1. Absolutely.

Edited because I misread the question.

If there was evidence that they gave orders that led to torture I'd call for a full investigation, prosecutions, and impeachment if warranted. As for Hillary stepping down I don't think she would have been involved in war planning or with the justice department in the Clinton administration so I don't think that would be an issue in my opinion.

2. I think you misread the question
The hypothetical is that people involved in Genocide were capture by us and to prevent additional attrocity, Reno staffers wrote memos detailing permissable techniques/torture.

I would still call for an investigation. Torture should never be used by the United States we should treat prisoners as we would want our soldiers treated.

3. The real question is,

If it had happened during Clinton Administration, and they were prosecuted, how many people in the Bush Administration would have gone along with Gitmo and Abu Grabi?

Two places that were not only morally wrong, but made America and the world more violent and more dangerous.

And remember Al Gore's outrage at Abu Grabi, it seemed genuine, making any suspicions of Clinton Administration less credible.

5. Why should "HRC step down?"
She wasn't an elected official in any capacity during the Clinton administration.

7. Would I insist on an investigation and a trial? Silly question.
I wouldn't have to. The Republicans would have already done it.

8. I would agree except for the HRC part. She has no official governmental role
in her husbands administration. But otherwise yes.

12. "information extracting techniques"

As the first "maybe" voter, I should point out that befriending a prisoner is supposed to be the single most effective "information extracting technique".

Would all the "yes" voters care to explain why you voted to prosecute anyone involved in that technique?
