I'll save you from clicking on Drudge:

WAKE UP CALL: TEXAS GOV. BACK RESOLUTION AFFIRMING STATE SOVEREIGNTY...
'Federal government has become oppressive in size... intrusion into lives of citizens'
'Tired of Washington trying to tell us how to run Texas'...
VIDEO...

AUSTIN – Gov. Rick Perry joined state Rep. Brandon Creighton and sponsors of House Concurrent Resolution (HCR) 50 in support of states’ rights under the 10th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.

“I believe that our federal government has become oppressive in its size, its intrusion into the lives of our citizens, and its interference with the affairs of our state,” Gov. Perry said. “That is why I am here today to express my unwavering support for efforts all across our country to reaffirm the states’ rights affirmed by the Tenth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. I believe that returning to the letter and spirit of the U.S. Constitution and its essential 10th Amendment will free our state from undue regulations, and ultimately strengthen our Union.”

Perry continued: "Millions of Texans are tired of Washington, DC trying to come down here to tell us how to run Texas."

2. that they put up with eight years of bush, then decide to get mad NOW, shows their true bias
I say jail the bastards in the state government the second that they sign on to any "sovereignty" project, bill, or petition.

5. Other than Governor Ann Richards, and LBJ, did Texas ever have
an intelligent politician at any level of government?

7. you know.... I say let 'em go
that's 34 red electoral votes they won't get in 2012

and then they can watch their taxes sky rocket when they have to do things like... raise their own army, keep the illegals out, social security, medicare....

my guess is that when they really think about it, they know they've got it pretty good

14. Split off the southern part of Texas and demand Mexico take it.
Or maybe we should give it to France and let them worry about those SOB's.

11. Gov. Perry is a teabagging douche
I know. I live here.

The only satisfaction that I will have about Kay Bailey Hutchison being the next Governor is that Rick Perry will not.

13. As much as I disagree with her politics, at least Hutchinson has a brain
She's definitely more of a pragmatist than Perry.
