Pot calling kettle black?...Rove calls Biden a "blowhard and a liar"
Edited on Fri Apr-10-09 10:28 AM by Jennicut
Karl Rove called Joe Biden a “blowhard” and a “liar” in response to some of the vice president’s comments about the Bush administration.
"He’s a serial exaggerator. If I was being unkind I would say he’s a liar, but it’s a habit he ought to drop,” Rove said on FOX News. "You should not exaggerate and lie like this when you are the vice president of the United States.”

Rove's comments are the harshest and most pointed yet in an ongoing feud between Biden and Bush administration officials, including Vice President Dick Cheney.

The former Bush adviser was referring to Biden’s comments earlier this week on CNN that he and President George W. Bush once had an exchange in the Oval Office, where Bush said, "Well, Joe ... I'm a leader,” and Biden responded: “Mr. President, turn around and look behind you. No one is following.”

"It didn't happen," Rove said. "It's his imagination. It's a made-up, fictional world. He ought to get out of it and get back to reality.”
Rove, who called Biden a “blowhard,” also took aim with Biden’s previous remarks that he had spent "a lot of hours alone" with Bush.
"Joe Biden was never alone with the president for more than few moments," Rove said. "There was staff in the room the whole time."

Biden spokesman Jay Carney told FOX earlier this week, "The vice president stands by his remarks."http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0409/21103.html

Funny, but I trust Biden much much more then anything Bush, Rove, or Bush's aides have to say. After all, they lied to the American people over and over again.

2. I don't get the people on tv who think it's wrong for the WH to hit back at these REALLY
polarizing figures who the majority of people hate or at least don't believe anymore. Who will people side with, "Turd Blossom" or Joe "Happy as a puppy" Biden? Rove has been a proven liar in the past and has no credibility. Once again, the Dems. get to put an ugly face on the Repub. party.

4. Joe is much more likable obviously.
Plus, he could easily kick Rove's pudgy little ass any day.

7. Yup. And he has intelligence that Rove will NEVER have. I think it's GREAT for Dems.
when one of the most polarizing monsters from the Bush admin. rears their ugly head and insults our president or vice president. It does not hurt our side like dummies like Scarborough and Buchanan think.

17. One would have to be a really bitter partisan to take Rove over Biden.....
Biden's a decent, caring, friendly guy. At worst he can be garrulous and maladroit, but that's not too bad. Rove's wicked and vile.

3. Rove calling Biden a blowhard and liar, and saying the VP of the US shouldn't lie
is like Charles Manson calling Vincent Bugliosi a murderer and saying that a prosecuting attorney ought not kill people.

9. Biden was quoted on this in 2004 - Rolling Stone magazine
Biden: About six months ago, the president said to me, "Well, at least I make strong decisions, I lead." I said, "Mr. President, look behind you. Leaders have followers. No one's following. Nobody."

If it was a lie why didn't Bush or Rove call him on it THEN?

10. Rove is both jealous and fearful of Biden
He always lunges for the throat against the strongest politicians like Ann Richards and John Kerry, and every single time it's with smearing lies.

but they are just too far gone to have any self-consciousness.

18. heh, saw this on Salon. Same playbook.
"Hmmm ... the vice president is a serial exaggerator ... where have I heard that before ...

Ahh, yes ... it's coming to me now ...

http://archive.salon.com/politics/feature/2000/10/10/nasty/index.html

Rove on Gore: "Nice attempt, Paul, to distract attention from the fact that your candidate is a serial exaggerator ... the fact of the matter is, your candidate is a guy who has trouble telling the truth ... . your man has a problem with embellishing the truth."

Bush communications director Karen Hughes on "Fox News Sunday": "As a reporter in Florida said to me the other day, he's gaining a reputation as a serial exaggerator. The vice president has consistently and repeatedly made up things, exaggerated, embellished facts."

24. Ummm, Karl, bit of a CONTRADICTION in your sentence...
``Biden was never alone with the president for more than few moments`` ... "There was staff in the room the whole time."

So which was it; ALONE A FEW MINUTES ....or never alone as THERE WAS STAFF THE WHOLE TIME.

ONE SENTENCE. Karl Rove can`t even manage ONE SENTENCE without a contradiction.
