At best it seems to be a one day story, and a secondary one at that.

1. Nah, it's too easy to dig up GOP cracks about disabled people
And the more they pick at Obama for saying what he did the more stuff will come out about nasty things limpballs or oreilly or some other asswipe has said.

9. I head it reported to and both anchors glossed over it and indicated
it didn't seem to be a big deal.

No sarcasm.

7. Nah, even Alex Witt said it didn't seem to be a big deal.

Aside from that, I've heard nary a word about it this moring. I'm surprised Drudge doesn't have a FLASHING RED LIGHT with a huge banner. Most comments I've read on Huff Post and other sites are unriled. Several people state they have family members who participate in Special Olympis and they were not offended. He was being self-deprecating and he shouldn't have mentioned Special Olympics, but it was not a big deal.

If anyone was offended, good for them. Do they seriously think President Obama would make fun of handicapped people? Please.

Even Chuck Todd thinks it's a yawner.

8. That's because he apologized before the show came on last night.
Edited on Fri Mar-20-09 10:07 AM by Connie_Corleone
And most people barely even noticed until they heard a story about it.

Also, most people can tell he wasn't making fun of special needs people. He was poking fun at himself.

10. When I switched over to MSNBC,
Alex Twit and some Politico stooge were discussing it. When Twit read the Twitter comments about it, the majority were complaining about the focus on this instead of more important topics. The M$M are trying, but the viewers don't seem to care.

11. Getting plenty of attention in the freepers padded room forums...
Brain twisting comments like:

"I saw the comment. It was really crass and tasteless. Pres. Bush may not have been the best-spoken man that there is, but OB is a graceless national embarrassment."

Again, let them at it - the more they hang in freeper land and twist their Budweiser drenched colons over anything Obama, the more they stay off the streets or hurt themselves leaving the house.

12. It's definitely NOT for a lack of trying
They;ll trot out Palin some time to try and gain more traction.

The MSM is in "take down Obama at all costs" mode every bit as much as they were in "protect Bush at all costs" mode for eight years.

14. Alex Witt (MSNBC) was just SHAMELESS! She asked a Politico reporter how she thought
Edited on Fri Mar-20-09 10:19 AM by jenmito
the interview went. The woman said she thought it went well, that Obama got his points out about the economy, Geithner, etc., and he had some pretty good one-liners like the one about American Idol, and then Witt asked, "Was there any one thing that stood out about that interview? It doesn't have to be anything that was supposed to be serious or anything..." and THEN the woman mentioned the Special Olympics joke, and Witt said, "Since you brought it up, we'll play a clip of it..." I couldn't BELIEVE her!

15. Well we sort of knew this was going to happen..but the President
by addressing it immediately as we did here in DU, took the steam out of it. Everyone makes verbal errors, and if you own up to it, then people understand.

They keep harping on it, it will work with the 20%, but with the rest of the country, it will just become a big geez get over it already.. and then ALL the verbal gaffes of the far right will start to re-emerge

19. Of course it isn't. That's because the media isn't liberal.
And it's the liberals making a huge deal out of it.
