PPP Poll: Obama crushes Palin in 2012
http://news.aol.com/article/obama-palin-2012-poll/390218

(March 19) - President Barack Obama would cruise to re-election in 2012 if Sarah Palin is the Republican nominee, a new poll finds.
In the hypothetical contest, Obama would defeat the Alaska governor 55 percent to 35 percent, the poll by Public Policy Polling found.

Well duh! Palin is dumber than Andy Card, and more annoying than (m)ann coultergeist.

Obama has the support of 89 percent of Democrats. Among Republicans, Palin has the support of 66 percent but 17 percent back Obama. Considering that Obama won just 9 percent of the Republican vote against John McCain, it appears that Palin would lose a lot more votes for the GOP, Public Policy Polling said.
Several national polls of GOP voters have suggested Palin, the Republican vice-presidential nominee in 2008, would be the party's No. 1 choice to head the ticket in 2012.

Dean Debnam, president of Public Policy Polling, cautioned that a lot could happen before the 2012 election.
"It's impossible to say what twists and turns the American political landscape will see between now and 2012," Denam said.
"What is clear is that four months ago John McCain lost to Barack Obama by seven points nationally, and at this point in time Sarah Palin trails Obama by a much greater 20 point margin. Obama would easily win more than 400 electoral votes in a contest against Palin at this point in time," he said.
The poll found Obama's overall national approval rating is 55 percent, with 37 percent of voters disapproving of his job performance. In comparison, 50 percent of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of Sarah Palin, with 41 percent holding a positive view of her.
The national survey of 691 voters was conducted March 13-15 and has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7 percent.

AOL, one of the more conservative sites out there, has their own poll attached to this article (they have a habit of doing that).
In a presidential race, who would you vote for?
Barack Obama 46%
Sarah Palin 41%
Neither 13%

Who would be the strongest GOP presidential candidate in 2012?
Mitt Romney 33%
Someone else 29%
Mike Huckabee 17%
Sarah Palin 14%
Bobby Jindal 7%

The only surprise here is that Jindal is in the toilet and "someone else" isn't ranked #1.

Are conservatives really so desperate to call upon Romney?

I am assuming that AOL gets frequented more by fiscal conservatives than social conservatives.

2. Huckabee had some serious staying power in the late GOP primaries
in the 08 cycle but then again, he only placed ahead of Sam Brownback in Iowa by the narrowest of margins and across the long-term trajectory of the campaign couldn't defeat the hapless John McCain.

Plus his son tortures dogs.

4. MIKE HUCKABEE’S WILLIE HORTON
Edited on Fri Mar-20-09 09:27 AM by mikekohr

Republican presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee, the former governor from Hope, Arkansas, is hoping you don’t look in his closet because there's a Willie Horton hiding in there.

Huckabee's Horton, is a monster named Wayne Dumond. A criminal with a long rap sheet of assaults, and sexual molestations, Dumond was an admitted participant in massacre of a Cambodian village when he was stationed in Vietnam. Upon return to the United States, he admitted to participating in a claw hammer murder of a fellow soldier in 1972. Dumond was convicted of sexual molestation of a teen age victim in 1973 and confessed to a rape charge in 1976.

Huckabee, ignoring Dumond’s reprehensible criminal record, bought into the Clinton hating, rightwing, partisans, that were attempting to smear Bill Clinton in the rape of a 16 year old girl high school cheerleader that Dumond kidnapped at knifepoint, raped and terrorized for two days. Dumond was convicted of this crime in 1985 and sentenced to life plus 20 years.
Huckabee worked, against the advice of the parole board and law enforcement officials, to secure Dumond's release from prison. Dumond's 16 year old victim, Ashley Stevens, upon learning of Huckabee's attempts to free her assailant, met with the governor and said she put her face inches from Huckabee’s and said, “This is how close I was to Wayne Dumond. I will never forget his face. And now I don’t want you ever to forget my face.”

Undaunted, governor Huckabee toiled on, eventually securing Dumond's release from prison on the condition that Dumond move out of Arkansas. Dumond complied, and moved to Missouri, where six weeks later he raped and murdered, 39 year-old Carol Sue Shields. Dumond was convicted of Shields’ murder based on DNA evidence. Dumond died, peacefully in his sleep on 9/7/2005, before he could be brought to trial in the rape and murder of a second victim, Sara Andrasek.

Dumond’s murders committed after Huckabee had secured his release from prison resulted in a firestorm of public condemnation. The governor responded to the criticism by denying he had anything to do with turning Dumond loose on the American public, in spite of voluminous testimony to the contrary.

Blind adherence to rigid political ideology, an absolute refusal to accept advice from others and stubborn refusal to accept responsibility for his own actions, has not served George W, Bush well as a President. These shared character defects will not wear well on Presidential candidate, Mike Huckabee either.

Ironically, or perhaps predictably, Huckabee is emerging as the consensus choice among so called Christian Conservatives. Go figure.

7. It has the sound of something that ought to sink Huck's odds for
higher office, but there was a disturbing silence on this for the 08 cycle.

His primary opponents surely must have been aware of it.

Puzzlin' evidence.

8. I'm Expecting That South Carolina Governor Guy
I'm expecting that South Carolina governor guy will be the Republican nominee. His family hasn't been put on full display (Unlike the Palins), he's not actually a preacher like the Hucksterbee, and he's not a Mormon like Mittsie.

9. imho, it's aiding and abetting rethugs to EVEN DISCUSS PALIN
don't let rethugs frame the discourse

don't take seriously their attempt to get it out that Palin is even a remotely possible threat or contender

she is pure evil and idiocy

but dems are taking the bait.....

once something is elevated to the level of general discourse----even if it's only to be condemned----they have WON

How embarrassing would it be if that dingbat beat Obama in 2012?

The PPP poll does give comfort though.

But at this point 4 years ago, everyone knew Hillary would be the nominee and next president....

14. That 66% of 35% of the country would even consider Palin' for president
is deeply astounding.

And the world just keeps laughing at us because of the deeply stupid 35% idiots.

Sometimes I really want to just smack those 35% up side their thick little heads.
