Would You Feel Better If The MSM/Powers-that-be Were Praising Obama Like They Did Bush?
Edited on Thu Mar-19-09 12:41 PM by stopbush
I don't know about you, but I think that Obama should be wearing the attacks in the media, the attacks from the traitorous Evan Bayhs and from the financial "gurus" as a badge of honor. He is fighting the people and powers that got us into the mess. He refuses to be a politician who says one thing to get elected and then does a 180 when he gets in office. DC isn't used to that. They're used to people playing the game, politicians talking a good talk in the campaign but entering office with a wink and a nod that nothing will change.

The country gets it. The country is behind Obama. Even if they don't follow every AIG "scandal" or every nuance in the financial plan, what they do know is that they finally have a president who will stand up and talk about these issues.

AIG is a case in point. Is there any doubt whatsoever that were bush still in office or were McCain in office they would be *defending* the bonus to the AIG types? At the least, they would be saying that nothing could be done to stop the bonuses from being paid. They might even be trumpeting the fact that they guaranteed the bonuses as a wink to their rich donors that their money and bonuses are safe as long as an R sits in the WH.

To the media, the pundits and the "experts" trashing Obama, I say, bring it on. Obama is rubber and you are glue.

Glad I got that off my chest.

1. For at least the first 100 days, yep.....the media should just be reporting
On how we got to where we got to economically, and covering the various issues on health care, unions, education, etc....

SO, I would prefer that the Media would attend to the business of reporting the news,
not digging for scandals that in the larger scheme of things will not help us one iota!

5. I hadn't thought of it like that... for now at least, I'll agree with you

Public sentiment is taking shape the same way as with successful nonviolent resistance... Do not capitulate or fight back and you can turn public opinion against the agressors, or something?

Obama has to keep pushing himself in front of the local news, same as during the campaign,... seems tiring. Hopefully at some point this will all force balanced coverage, not just better than Bush years coverage.

7. The M$M Fogosphere now appears to be blaming the doctor for the disease.
It will take far longer than a few weeks to rebuild an economy broken by 8 years of the Cheney-Rove regime's fixation on getting Iraq's oil fields up and running (the Enron Doctrine), at any cost (in lives and economically - cheap credit inflated the housing market - the only sector of the economy that had any strength (illusory) and then came the Republican Deregulation Disaster (courtesy of PHil Gramm).

They need to listen to what the American people have indicated in the polls. They know the damage done to the econmy by the Republicans is massive and it will take about a year before we can expect to see significant signs of the economy getting better. Meanwhile MSM assiduously applies itself trying to breed hysteria in the markets and doubt in the minds of the people. Quite a change of attitude and behavior from the uncritical acceptance and repetition of Republican propaganda from the illegal (never elected, appointed by Antonin "the Reign-Maker" Scalia) government of Cheney and Rove. But of course it's not a change - they are still chanting the destructive Republican 'line' that Obama and the Democrats are "screwing the situation up". The Republicans are committed to seeing that Obama and the Democrats fail even if it costs us dearly as a nation.

This is why people are bailing on the M$M and coming to the internet to find out WTF is really going on and WHY it's happening. M$M Fogosphere - your days are numbered.

8. I don't want the M$M to be cheerleaders; I just wish they would be fair and impartial
As for Bayh, part of me thinks that he is deliberately seeking revenge against Obama for not being his choice for VP. Just my view. The fact that he is vigorously going after Obama tells me that there's an ulterior motive and it's personal.

10. You mean a world without Fox News, CNBC, WSJ and other Republican Shills?
I would prefer it to the current system, which has entire media conglomorates acting as GOP Propaganda arms.

I would MUCH prefer a diverse and independent media. However, that will never happen. Corporate media is too strong.
