VP Biden at Nato Summit in Belgium, so much nicer to look at then Cheney!

With North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) Secretary-General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer

With EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana

The other world leaders sure seem happy to not have to deal with Shrub or Darth Cheney anymore. We are actually being represented as adults and people capable of human emotions (unlike Cheney) overseas.

2. Yeah, we should have sent Cheney to charm school before letting him be VP.
Thank god he didn't go hunting with any foreign dignitaries!

Thanks for these photos!

10. I got the biggest hoot ever when I was watching Blitzer's interveiw of Cheney.
At the end, Blitzer said something like, "Tell us something about yourself that we don't know." Cheney actually smiled & said something along the lines of, "I'm really a likeable guy."

5. Joe does have a great smile. That certainly puts people at ease
And he has a wealth of experience in foreign policy. People will be willing to work with him, not against him.

35. Smiling Republicans always look like they're having a bowel movement
Edited on Wed Mar-11-09 01:34 AM by xenussister
Can anyone come up with a picture of a Pub where the smile actually looks genuine, warm and friendly? Palin has a good smile but it still seems fake and cold. Bush was an amiable type, but his smile was creepy. Most Republicans look like they have a stick up their ass, even when they're supposed to look happy.

Edit to add: thanks for the pictures, I love Joe and Joe's smile! And he's a smart, caring man. And he has a great wife and family! Boy did we luck out this election!

11. A Vice President? Smiling?
I thought the role of the Vice President was to constantly scour and threaten people. And on occassions, shoot somebody in the face.

Do your job, Vice President Biden!

um...did I just say that about the Vice President of the United States? Yes, I Did!!

But seriously, VP Biden has got just about the warmest smile I've ever seen. His whole face lights up and he's so cute when he starts laughing.

18. Back When the President Obama Shirtless Pix Hit the Internets
a co-worker asked me if I'd seen them. I replied that I felt very bad having impure thoughts regarding our (then) President-Elect.

My co-worker laughed and said that's ok - I have impure thoughts about his wife...

... which is a compliment, btw. :)

All I know is, I feel better when Joe is doing his smiling and pointing thing. Picks me right up every time.

14. What a great VP
I think Joe is going to redefine the office of Vice President, but in a good way. I've never seen a Vice President so involved in so many things at one time and always visible. That smile alone will mend many fences.

I guess he does have a passport.

Am I being hypersensitive if I say that I find his attire fairly insulting?! It looks like he forgot he had to go to the Memorial while he was snowboarding in the alps or something so he didn't have time to change.

27. I got an automatic cringe when I heard the words "Today, the American vice-president..."
And when the name mentioned was "Joe Biden", I immediately relaxed.

It's so nice not to have to cringe anymore.

40. From an eyewitness
My wife works at the EU Parliament in Brussels. She describes helicopters swooping overhead. A section of the city was cordoned off by police, people unable to return home, or at least not via their normal routes. In Brussels, not Kandahar. Does that happen when the VP moves around Washington, too?

But I'll grant you his endearing smile!
