Faux News Recon: Bernie Goldberg to Hannity, "Obama's Rush Strategy Will Work!"
Edited on Sat Mar-07-09 12:29 AM by Clio the Leo
BECAUSE MSNBC is once again robbing me of the joy of seeing Tweety three times on Friday :), I am forced to watch Hannity.

So, after telling his audience that the President is taking a "spring break trip to Europe" in a few weeks (which those of us with a brain know is actually a trip to meet with other world leaders at G-20, NATO and EU summits) he then invites Bernie Goldberg to share his thoughts on this White House Rush thing.

While they agree that it's "juvenile" Goldberg breaks it to Hannity that "I think it will work!" Pointing out that by making Rush the focal point "and you too Sean, I'm sorry to tell you that, a lot of moderate Republicans dont like you either" Rahm et al will be able to drive a wedge between the conservative and moderate wing of the GOP.

So see there, sometimes Fox DOES report the truth. ;)

This of course is followed by Sean pointing out that the stock market is spiraling out of control as a part of some scheme Obama cooked up with Ayers, Bin Laden and Karl Marx when he was 8. :)

:sarcasm: These assholes will lose in the end and that's he only positive. I can't stand it either.

7. That's true, but the media will never cover it.
Imagine the scandal when it is revealed that Pat Buchanan is Obama's older brother.

David Duke would probably stop featuring Buchanan's essays on his website.

2. Close to the truth ...

The wedge between moderates and the radicals in the party is already there and started becoming a focal point that could be hammered at minimum two years ago. The Rush Strategy, so-called, is actually an offensive public relations maneuver designed to blunt Republican attempts to remove the wedge.

What this particular spin on the whole thing is doing is an attempt at shifting the spotlight off the very real differences between moderates and radicals and package it as though it is something Obama created by not taking Rush's crap sitting down.

So, basically, they're taking a kernel of truth and doing with it what they usually do, providing the basis of a counter-offensive.

IMO.

4. Your "joy of seeing tweety"?
Edited on Sat Mar-07-09 08:22 AM by Exilednight
I am sure there are groups that can cure you of that. I recommend tuning in to Countdown or the Rachel Maddow Show twice a night for the next two years.

*edit for spelling of joy.

6. So then call it a "GOP strategy"
It's not about Rush ..... he's merely the diversion to make the rest of the party look like fools. And as the guy in that hotel commercial says while he's pouring shampoo on his head..... "IT'S WORKING!!!!!" ;)

10. I think they have a strategy to get the moderate Republicans
to stop following in lock-step with the GOP and right-wing of the Republican party. If they can make it so moderate representatives have to start worrying about what it looks like to moderate Republicans and swing voters when they vote in lock-step, they might just be able to win over some of those votes.

I think the strategy is to force moderate Senators and Congressmen to start acting independently by making the consequences for always voting the way Limbaugh insists they do outweigh the consequences from Limbaugh's followers if they vote in opposition to what he wants.

So yes, I think they do have a Rush strategy. Or rather a strategy to drive a wedge between moderate and right-wing Republicans. The Republicans have a similar strategy called the "Michael Moore" strategy.
