He doesn't last long and seems to draw some pretty profound conclusions from it.

Sorry if this had been posted before.

1. Yeah this is ridiculously old.

I saw this either on MSNBC or CNN...a news program had talked about it. I think it was MSNBC when it was on channel 40/44 in New YOrk.

But it's still freaky to this day..definitely lasts the tests of time.

3. De nada, you're here now.
It's scary isn't it?! Talk about cruel and unusual punishment and there were people who didn't see it as torture or defended it's usage. Pure stupidity.

4. Old news
but at least it made us realize that the man might be human after all.

5. I can't believe he agreed to it, but the fact that he did tells me
Edited on Wed Mar-04-09 07:35 PM by Phx_Dem
he really believed it wasn't going to be that bad. He wasn't just saying it for ideological reasons. Now he knows differently.

I'm no fan of Hitchens; I find him arrogant, condescending and rude but I have to admit he "walked the walk." Good for him.

Bill O'Reilly, Sean Hannity, Rushbo . . . if you weren't such chickenshits, you'd either admit it's torture or do what Hitchens did and find out for yourself.

6. Thanks. I had never read that article.
I knew he had done it and the outcome, but the personal report is chilling.

7. Judging from his general libation habits, water must TERRIFY him
I'm reminded of the wag at the end of "A Star Is Born" after our heroine's sot of a husband suicides himself in the surf: "First drink of water he's had in 20 years, and then he had to get it by accident."
