| Well, what in the hell kind of Presidential Address was that? |
 |
No mention of switchgrass.
No warnings about the imminent threat of human/animal hybrids.
No mission to Mars.
Nothing about how to put food on your family.
No answer to whether our children is learning.
No assurances about how a free and democratic Iraq will be a beacon in the Middle East.
No reminder of how incredibly safe we are now that Saddam is gone.
Not a word about how Ahmadwhatisname is the most fearsome madman the nation has ever faced.
No reminder that the government never stops thinking about ways to make us less safe.
Not a hint of strategery about how we're going to triumph over radical Islamaniacs who hate us for our freedoms.
No indication that Freedom Fries will once again adorn the menu at the Capitol Hill noshery.
Not a thing about how we have to watch what we say and support the Commander in Chief in time of war.
No reassurances about bringing dignity and honor back to the White House.
No indication of willingness on the part of the First Lady to adorn herself in bordello drapes.
Not a single smirk.
Nary a "heh-heh."
Well, damn.
This is not the change I voted for.
Oh, wait. Yes, it is.
Sorry.

| 37. Switchgrass is often considered a good candidate for biofuel, according to Wiki. |
 |
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Switchgrass Switchgrass is often considered a good candidate for biofuel — especially ethanol fuel — production due to its hardiness in poor soil and climate conditions, rapid growth and low fertilization and herbicide requirements. Switchgrass is also perennial, unlike corn, and has a large biomass output (the raw plant material used to make biofuel) of 6-10 tons per acre.<15><2> U.S. President George W. Bush proposed the usage of switchgrass in his 2006 State of the Union address <16> <17><18>; since then, over $100 million has been invested into researching switchgrass as a potential biofuel source<19>.
Switchgrass has the potential for enough biomass to produce up to 100 gallons (380 liters) of ethanol per metric ton harvested.<20> This gives switchgrass the potential to produce 1,000 gallons of ethanol per acre, compared to 665 gallons per acre of sugarcane and 400 gallons per acre of corn.<21>
However, there is debate on the economic and environmental viability of switchgrass, and all other biofuels, as an efficient energy source. In recent studies, it has been argued that switchgrass has a negative ethanol fuel energy balance, requiring 45 percent more fossil energy to create switchgrass into a biofuel than is produced.<22>

That switch grass could be grown along all our highways and interstates. They mow them anyway. Instead of letting it just lay there, they could haul to a place to turn it into fuel. Just a thought!

and put it into the same fermenter as switch grass. We could grow corn for food, and use its stalks as fuel. Why aren't we pursuing this?

He didn't really say that - please tell me he didn't say that. I have never seen that one.
I remarked last night how pleasant it was to have a president again who knows how to speak in complete sentences. Doesn't use the podium as a body support. Actually pronounces words correctly - no more mush mouth. Has a complete, coherent message you can follow. It is with real joy and profound relief that I listen to the POTUS again.
