5. Just one of many reasons why media polls are invalid:
Edited on Thu Sep-16-04 12:44 PM by depakote_kid
"The people who are using telephone surveys are in denial," Zogby was saying. "It is similar to the '30s, when they first started polling by telephones and there were people who laughed at that and said you couldn't trust them because not everybody had a home phone. Now they try not to mention cell phones. They don't look or listen. They go ahead with a method that is old and wrong."

There are other problems with the sampling, too- not to mention the nature of the questions.

Nevertheless, people still believe them... most people never took stats 101, and even if they did, they're not privy to the methodology used by the polling companies, who with respect to media polls do things supremely on the cheap.

6. I've been registered ind. for years,
don't even own a cell phone (I know, shame on me!), and have NEVER been polled. Who the hell ARE they polling? According to Breslin, I guess it doesn't matter!
