1. "Garth Brooks’....cover of American Pie failed to impress the president."
Edited on Wed Feb-18-09 05:37 PM by Jackeens
True, Garth is somewhat less than the king of cool, but the President sang and, eh, bopped along merrily to American Pie so, www.mojo4music.com: ye're a bunch of fibbers!

4. I loved Garth's take on American Pie..more
than any other actually because he's country and he was there at the We Are One. It was very uniquely special.

The article is a bunch of negative bullshit.

9. Easy, Cha.
I hold seances and we once conjured up Buddy Holly. He hates American Pie with a passion.

17. Love him, Cha.
One of my life goals is to get up to Clear Lake for the Winter Ball. I hear it's a blast. Buddy Holly music for a weekend. Yes.

12. How much do you hate that headset he uses, however?
Looks like something from Radioshack.

14. Mick Farrin might be fibbing about Garth, Jackeens.
However, MOJO is the best R&R mag I've ever had the pleasure of reading. It's great to have it in the States. And ya get a free CD. Perfect for us aging rockers.

2. Nice review, but the writer obviously dislikes Garth Brooks for
some reason. His statement that "...Garth Brooks’ cowboy hat kept him warm, but his cover of American Pie failed to impress the president" is simply wrong. The President was singing along for Pete's sake during American Pie and everybody watching saw that. Furthermore, I don't know if any other performer got the crowd going as well as Brooks did with Shout.

3. Bono's histrionics.
Glad that I'm not the only one who thought Bono was just slightly disingenuous.

5. I disagree..I thought it was perfect.
The We Are One Concert actually made a Bono fan out of me and a Garth Brooks fan.
