Four Tennessee Legislators Want Obama to Prove Citizenship
Source: Tennessean

Several Tennessee lawmakers have signed on to a legal action intended to force President Barack Obama to turn over his birth certificate and other documents to prove his citizenship, an effort rejected by the U.S. Supreme Court in an earlier case.

Tennessee Reps. Eric Swafford, Stacey Campfield, Glen Casada and Frank Niceley have all agreed to be plaintiffs in a planned legal action by a Russian immigrant in California who has challenged whether Obama meets constitutional criteria to be president.

The lawsuit from the Defend Our Freedoms Foundation, which has not been filed, will be among several court challenges to Obama's citizenship.

I hope Obama or Biden will call them anklebiters, outright.

3. Tennessee is one of the welfare states...
Getting a handout of $1.30 for every tax dollar paid in. So the comment about poverty is not off base.

For someplace without representation that is doing pretty good.

And let us remind people that Tennessee, during the civil rights movement, was blessed with two fairly progressive senators, Al Gore Sr. and Estes Kefauver. They were the only two southern senators who refused to sign the segregationist "Southern Manifesto".

There are good people in Tennessee, and I am pleased to count you among them. :-)

We do what we can to get Dems elected here (so far a losing cause) and we're big contributors to progressive Dems elsewhere.

When we can't get Dems here, we help get them all over the United States.

And we're still working on increasing the number of Dems here.

69. Defend Our Freedoms Foundation?
From their website: http://defendourfreedoms.org/

We are an organization of volunteers that are working to preserve our unalienable rights and our freedom guaranteed to us in our constitution.

We are currently developing a network of leaders that would organize personal meetings of groups of citizens with governmental officials. We realized that numerous letters written by volunteers didn't reach those officials, but probably were tossed by low level employees. It is urgent for groups to form in every state and visit the US Attorney's office as well as the FBI. Coordinators have been assigned to assist in organizing these efforts. Contact US Attorney Coordinator. Please put US Attorney in the email subject line. Contact FBI Coordinator. Please put FBI in the email subject line.

Attention Senator Grassley
Senate Finance Committee
Via fax 202-224-5136

February 5, 2009

Dear Senator Grassley:

Thank you for taking the time to review the documentation relevant to the Constitutional legitimacy of the presidency Barack Obama. There have been various problems with the vetting of Mr. Obama throughout the campaign and the present. ... I’m sure you will agree that this information must be further investigated promptly before any damage is done to the United States and its citizens—beyond the Constitutional compromises that currently exist. Most interesting, though, is the fact that Mr. Obama has not simply ordered the original vault copy of his birth certificate to be sealed and chosen to retain three (3) law firms to defend the various cases—spending a reported $800,000 (of whose money?). If Mr. Obama has nothing to hide, then why fight the more than 42 cases in federal courts alone (According to Justia)....Main issue is that the state of HI, according to statue 338 allows Foreign born children of Hawaiian residents to obtain Hawaiian birth certificates and obtain them based on a statement of one relative only. There is plenty of evidence of Mr. Obama being born in Kenya and obtaining his Hawaiian birth certificate based on a statement of his grandparent only,,,,Extensive searches in the State of Hawaii showed on birthing records for his mother Ann Dunham in any hospital in Hawaii.

....There are serious concerns about Mr. Obama’s identity and financial dealings. I have obtained a list of some 100 addresses under the name of Barack Obama (and similar spellings). These addresses are attached to different social security numbers. As you know the first three digits in a social security number signify the state. Those were issued all over the country. One of his social security numbers, that was used while he was a law student at Harvard and attached to his address in Sommervile MA, was issued in Ct and attached to a holder of this social security number , that is 118 years old. Clearly no human being can legally have dozens of different social security numbers and Soetoro/Obama is not a 118 years old. I believe there is evidence of massive fraud and massive financial fraud. I believe those units of Name/ss number/ addresses were used to fraction large campaign contributions and other transactions. There is evidence of campaign contributions coming from countries like Libya, Uganda, Palestinian authority and Saudi Arabia. Mr. Obama’s grandmother, Ms. Madelyn Dunham worked as a volunteer in probate department of the Oahu Circuit court and had access to the Social security numbers of the deceased individuals, which might explain the findings. Mr. Obama’s mother Ann Dunham, according to databases had numerous aliases and at least two social security numbers.

95. Oh, you forgot the latest....
Seems people started writing those state reps to set the record straight, and the Democratic state reps started to make fun of them.

Which made Dentist/Lawyer Dr. Orly Taitz, (aka Our Lady of the Nitrous Oxide) even more unhinged than before.

http://defendourfreedoms.us/2009/02/12/obamas-communist-radical-muslim-chicago-mafia-style-thugs-are-attacking-4-courageous-tn-state-representatives-we-need-to-show-appreciation-to-those-4-representatives-and-attack-those.aspx

"On Monday and Tuesday four courageous Tennessee representatives: Eric Swafford, Frank Niceley, Stacey Campfield and Glen Casada have signed consent forms to be plaintiffs in a legal action to be filed by Dr. Orly Taitz, ESQ, seeking a Writ of Mandamus (a mandate) from the court to unseal original birth certificates, all passports, immigration records, school registration and other vital records of Barry Soetoro, citizen of Indonesia and Kenya, aka Barack Hussein Obama, in order to verify his eligibility/legitimacy for presidency. It is a very legitimate action, since Soetoro/Obama has been hiding all his records and no court has ever heard the case on the merits, no judge has ever issued any Judicial subpoena, telling US citizens, that they have no standing to question legitimacy of the president. Clearly lawmakers have better standing and that is what the law makers should do, represent their constituency. If Obama's unsealed records show, what we actually know, that his father was a foreign National and he was a Britiish National at birth (Kenya was a British colony) and he is an Indonesian citizen now and in the past, he cannot be a US president and needs to be removed from the White House ASAP. No bill, including hotly debated economic package is valid, if he is not legitimate.

Reports came out today showing that Obama's Nazi squad thugs are at it again, intimidating and harassing honest, law abiding citizens and law makers. "

It gets......well, I can't say "better"

"If we get scared and intimidated, we all will end up in those civilian labor camps, that Obama is proposing and we will be guarded by those Hamas radical Muslim thugs that Obama wants to bring to this country, based on the new immigration bill that he signed."

She then attacks State Rep. Larry Miller, a Democrat who said:

ttp://www.commercialappeal.com/news/2009/feb/12/state-representative-joins-group-challenging-obama/

“It makes you want to not even go up and serve in the House with them,” Miller said"

This made Dr. Orly freak out and go on a rampage.

"One of the people that ridiculed these decent law makers was Larry Miller, a Democrat from Nashvile. He stated that they embarrass the state and "it makes you not even want to go and serve in the house with them." Everybody should write to Larry Miller, that such a gutless, spineless thug like him is an embarrassment to this Nation, that if he doesn't want to serve with them, then he should resign and people of Nashville TN can find somebody with more integrity, decency, guts and spine and a few other parts to replace him.
Orly"

That "gutless, spineless thug" is a professional firefighter, a job that requires far more "integrity, decency, guts and spine" than Dr. Orly or her Cavity Creeps will ever show. He also happens to be African-American, which is what some of her supporters were tap-dancing around in order not to show their overt racism. It didn't work.

30. I find it interesting that anytime the south is mentioned
Edited on Fri Feb-13-09 08:40 AM by TNDemo
(and it is mentioned often on DU because people like a good fight and southern sectionalism is about the last politically correct social bias to have apparently) that it is always thrown out that the south is still fighting the civil war. It is interesting that southerners don't bring up the civil war but northerners and westerners always do. It is done as a way to denegrate (we won! you lost! stupid yokels!) but apparently the civil war is much more present on northern minds than southern. Yes, there are reenactors but they are from all over the country. They come here to reenact because this is where the battles happened, not because the entire southern populace is caught up in it. So I understand the suffering of micropenia but maybe you can occasionally find someone else to poke a stick at and take lunch money from occasionally than just southerners.

Broadbrush much? It's quite telling that you took my post as being aimed at all Southerners. The OP was about Southern Republicans. Micropenia? That's a new one to me. I'm sorry your husband or boyfriend was born with such an awful shortcoming. But it does not give you the right to show your utter frustration on a public forum.

50. I think you started the broad brush comments.
As a Southerner, I NEVER hear the Civil War mentioned by any of my family, neighbors, co-workers, etc, so the other poster was correct. On DU, at least, it's always, always, always northerners and westerners who say, "the South's still fighting the Civil War."

For Pete's sake, we never even think about it down here. And, those few idiots who fly the Battle Flag of Northern Virginia and think it's the Confederate Flag don't count because they, obviously, don't know they're flying the wrong flag.

There were almost 1.5 Tennesseans who voted for McCain and almost 1.1 million who voted for Obama. Whenever people say to write off TN or to screw TN I always wonder if they feel like all the people voting democratic in the state are worthless.

79. I got quite a chuckle out of this until
I read this:
http://citizenwells.wordpress.com/2008/12/09/we-the-people-foundation-wethepeoplefoundationorg-press-conference-monday-december-8-2008-national-press-club-jeff-schreiber-report-robert-schulz-philip-j-berg-orly-taitz-reverend-manning/

We The People Foundation, WeThePeopleFoundation.org, Press conference, Monday, December 8, 2008, National Press Club, Jeff Schreiber report, Robert Schulz, Philip J Berg, Orly Taitz, Reverend Manning, Chicago tribune, Curt Wrotnowski case December 12, 2008

Robert Shulz of the We The People Foundation held a press conference on Monday, December 8, 2008, at the National Press Club to discuss the eligibility issues and concerns surrounding Barack Obama. Jeff Schreiber covered the event and has written an excellent report:

“A stone’s throw away from the White House, more than 50 members of the press and curious onlookers alike crowded the intimate Edward R. Murrow Room at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. this afternoon to hear arguments why Barack Obama is constitutionally ineligible to serve as president of the United States.

snip

Also attending the press conference: Philip Berg, a Pennsylvania attorney who, in August, filed the first lawsuit questioning Obama’s constitutional eligibility; Orly Taitz, a Chechnyan immigrant turned southern California dentist and lawyer who has filed a pair of suits in the Golden State, one of which was on behalf of Ambassador and former GOP presidential candidate Alan Keyes, who ran as the Independent Party’s candidate for president in this past election.; and Rev. James David Manning, chief pastor at the Harlem-based ATLAH World Missionary Church.”

snip

“Just when it looked as though the room would open up for questions, the Rev. James David Manning asked to say a few words. A very eloquent and decidedly patriotic man, he led with a prayer.

“I pray, Lord, that we can overcome the wickedness which has overtaken our politicians, the media, and even in our court systems at the highest level,” Rev. Manning said, “and that this long-legged mack-daddy will not be allowed to take the oath of office on the 20th of January.”"

““We don’t know who this man is,” he said, cautioning his fellow African-Americans not to accept this fruit of a white woman as their redeemer. “He’s no Booker T. Washington, I’ll tell you that. He’s no Martin Luther King. But he does possess the potential to be the most prolific con-man in the history of this country. It is my prayer that January 20th will not happen, that Barack Hussein Obama will not be inaugurated. This man has come from the womb of a white woman.””

I CANNOT FIND THE WORDS TO DESCRIBE HOW MUCH I HATE THESE RACIST FUCKTARDS!

45. Wow, check this shit out on Stacey Campfield (a dumbass dude)
Hehehe...

(He's the Reich-wing, anti-choice gladhander on the right...)

1. Campfield is known for making stuff up; he can’t tell a fact from a right-wing fantasy

If Stacey Campfield is awake, he is probably spreading false information. He claims that the state already issues “death certificates” for miscarriages. In fact, the state issues "certificates" for late-term miscarriages, no personal data is collected, no one’s privacy is invaded. As many have noted, death certificates are what you get when you have an actual birth certificate! And death certificates are branded with identifying data such as social security numbers.

Campfield also falsely claims that his joke of a bill would result in the collection of needed data, i.e., the number of abortions performed in this state. It's no surprise that Stacey X doesn't know that this data is already collected, and the information is readily available from many sources.

2. Campfield can’t get a bill passed

Campfield is now in his second term, yet I can find no evidence that he has ever gotten a bill of his own passed. He has signed on as co-sponsor to bills which have passed, he has gotten resolutions passed, and that's it!

3. Campfield has the maturity of a 12 year old

Campfield was once kicked out of a political fundraising event for heckling and invading the personal space of the Democratic candidate for governor. That's Stace heckling Phil Bredesen in the photo above. That would be, uhm, Governor Phil Bredesen. (See explanatory note at end.)

4. Campfield is an uneducated yahoo

It’s not clear if Stacey X got his degree on the internet, or if he merely claims he got his degree on the internet. What is clear is that Stace has some embarrassing problems with the language. Stacey Campfield is known in these parts as the legislator who has a well-documented history of being unable to spell or formulate complete thoughts.

5. Campfield is an obnoxious jackass

The last time Campfield received this much media coverage was when the Tennessee Representative opined that the legislature's Democratic Black Caucus was more racist than the KKK because they wouldn't let Stacey’s white Republican ass join the Black Democratic Caucus. The story landed in the Washington Post, and was an especially big hit across the pond where everybody already 'knew' that Tennessee is the land of obnoxious uneducated yahoos.

47. I guess its ok on DU to hate Tennesseans and to bash the state unabated
There are lot of good Democrats here and our state was once a very loyal Democratic state - and not too long ago either. We just need good leadership in our party and some fairness back on the airwaves.

I love the broad brushed remarks about Tennessee and its inhabitants while the people making the comments don't have a clue about whats going on in this state. Yes, I'm ashamed that we've got these people here and they always seem to be the ones that get the attention, but I'm not giving up on this state. But I suppose we should all just move to some other state and let the state we love be laid to waste by the GOP. Or I suppose we could just throw our hands in the air and say we don't care and stop giving money to other candidates across the country since "we don't matter" to some on this board.

Also - these four idiots are merely pandering to their ultra-right wing base in order to get some headlines for their re-election. 3 of the 4 are scared to death that a more moderate Republican is going to unseat them next cycle. That's all this is.

i mean atleast one thing can be said about republicans...

they never give up.

they can be proven wrong time and again, shut down by the highest athority of law, but still... they continue their fight... even when everyone else thinks they have losts their minds...they keep on goin'.

so keep it up republicans, keep standing in the way of progress at a crucial point in our history. you may destroy the country by doing it, but you only make the support for people who arent you grow larger. so go on, let us have more seats in both houses.

ill be sure to send the thank you letter to all the dumb douches in the republcan party trying to fight old fights.

republicans like ride the sinking ship to the bottom of the ocean, not changing a thing they do while it sinks...
thats fine if they want to do that, but i hate to tell 'em... theyll be the only ones that drown.

there is a possibility that they don't have a birth certificate. Most likely they would have to be in their 60's or older and have been born at home without a doctor.

134. Best kept secret of Tennessee: half the state was settled by, gasp! Arabs!
We have a HUGE population of folks here who are descendants of those Lebanese who helped settle much of the western part of the state.

In fact, if you look around the state, you'll see more than most states' fair share of people, particularly men, with the very dark, almond-shaped eyes and very dark black hair common among Arab people.

Won't want to admit that, though.

99. Don't believe that the Rethug TN legislature is a reflection of what Tennesseans voted for.
We have been working here for almost four years to ban non-verifiable voting machines and to institute paper ballots/opscan AND mandatory random manual audits in every election. The Rethugs fought us tooth-and-nail (aided by two very corrupt state election officials) to postpone the implementation of the DRE ban until 2010. With that delay, Rethugs overwhelmingly voted for the bill, as did Democrats.

Well, (as Gomer Pyle would say) "Gawlleee, Sarge, them Rethugs won EVERY open seat in our legislature -- how'd they do that?" As a result, for the first time since Reconstruction, Rethugs control both houses of our legislature. (Think Georgia 2002 -- same m.o., same outcome.)

Now that the Rethugs control the legislature (and with it, the state election commission and the county election commissions in ALL 95 counties), they have stated that repealing the TN Voter Confidence Act is one of their three top priorities for this legislative session.

Cue Gomer again: "Sur-prize, sur-prize, sur-prize".

If we cannot keep the DRE ban in place, it will likely take a revolution in this state to return it to any (small "d") democratic legitimacy. But hey, treason is a capital offense. And we grow some pretty tall hangin' trees in Nashville.

PS: Stop bashing Tennessee. We all have enough Rethug effluvia in our own states to deal with -- ours here in Tennessee are just easier targets.

That being said, I am sorry people have used this as an opportunity to bash Tennessee and/or the south. Ignorance knows no region. It lowers the bashers to the level of the bashees, who suffer from their own blind prejudices and fears.

135. I'm in Knoxville and I'm sane!
Knoxville - the city of - is blue. My area of town is particularly blue. I have Dems as representatives in my school board, my city council, my county commission and my state House. The only reason my state senator is Republican is because my senatorial district is bigger and includes Halls - part of the county.

You can literally travel over Black Oak Ridge from Fountain City, where I live, and into Halls and see the difference. The signs would switch from Obama to McCain at the blink of an eye. It's eerie, but it just proves the point that's often made by Southerners on this board: states aren't blue or red - they're purple. It's the cities that are blue and the rural areas that are red.

Not sure where in East Tennessee you live, but, rest assured - there are some of us blue voters in your neck of the woods.

I do think there are more Democrats than it appears. It's just that the Republicans are very, very vocal. My friends are apolitical, which is okay compared to the majority.

128. Bunch of wingnuts with a loon lawyer
The lawyer is Dr. Orly Taitz, a dentist and correspondence law school graduate from CA. A nutjob. She files and files with SCOTUS and they ignore her. Last week she had a volunteer go up to the gate at the White House trying to gain admittance to the Oval Office to serve a pleading on President Obama to show his bc. She is a total idiot, but now has gotten these TN state reps to sign on with her lawsuit trying to have SCOTUS give them "status" to sue Obama.

I read several of the wacky "birther" websites and they feed on this crap, convinced they are going to get Obama out with the next lawsuit. Their hopes are pinned on Orly Taitz. Google her and read some of this crap. Now they are all into getting states to secede.
