Poll question: Is Rahm Emanuel doing a good job?
Edited on Thu Feb-12-09 07:53 PM by Divine Discontent
Just wondering what people think about his handling as the "director" to President Obama's "executive producer" role. I feel this is yet another black eye on the Obama Administration, regardless if this one is fully deserved or not. There should have been certainty in knowing he was for the stimulus before asking him to be commerce sec. - and frankly what the HELL are they thinking in putting a RETHUGLICAN in charge of commerce when we're on the verge of a depression caused by Rethuglicans?

These people (Republic Party) just got away with 8 years of mass hysteria and wild disobedience. They are obstructionists who hope to destroy the "Obama generation" and anyone who wants to work together to solve the problems created by their Lord (B*sh) and Master (Cheney) - they have no desire to appreciate the reached out hand extended their way. Only a certain 2 or 3 of them should be worked with to assure victory in the senate, and hopefully we get a Senator Franken added to the mix, soon. They're essentially irrelevant in the House, and I'd love to see that happen in the Senate, and the GOP is doing all it can to assure that Americans who are hurting remember who doesn't have their back.

How would you rate Rahm's job so far?

5. well that's who I made the question for, those who knew, was wondering what people thought.
I'd say he's done a piss poor job - but I don't want to vote in my own poll. There seems to have been a lot more of a mess with this cabinet than any I can recall.

2. I guess you havent seen the news
Even Gregg admits he was on board with the stimulus (i.e The presidents plans) before he was against it.

BTW Rahm does not control Obama.

4. He sure did (support the stimulus bill):
Earlier in the program he said he was "not really engaged in the stimulus bill," but that he did believe "we need one."

"We need a robust one," he added. "I think the one that's pending is in the range we need. I do believe it's a good idea to do it at two levels, which this bill basically does, which is immediate stimulus and long-term initiatives which actually improve our competitiveness and our productivity."

7. I never said he did control him.
Also - at this point, I sure hope that they see from the GOP's nasty handling of BEING INCLUDED in the stimulus debate and now being dumped on by Gregg - that these Rethugs do not want anything GOOD to come from the Obama Adm. They hate us and what we stand for. I hope all of his advisers really are in full concert on telling the president that the GOP are far too obstructionist for their liking and they're to be ignored as much as can be accomplished with still getting everything done they really need to get done this year.

8. I agree with the fuck bipartisanship part
but I don't think President Obama does. He will keep trying, either as part of a plan to expose their worthlessness or just because he really believes he can win them over. But, he will not let them define or destroy his agenda.

13. I actually did vote, but I don't expect my vote to stand that way for long.
Eventually the team will find their footing.

14. If he contributed to Gregg resigning, he gets an A++++ !!
.
.

I'm greatful for him that the problems with the Census program will be taken care of. The reasons DUDD Gregg wanted to do away with it were 100% political.

Rock on Rham.

16. where is F with extreme prejudice?
While you can't blame him for every misstep of Obama's, the over-emphasis on bipartisanship to the point of trying to appoint Judd Gregg to Commerce and two insurance company owned pols to spearhead HHS in a row, those sure have the stench of DLC corporate pandering.

17. I don't know that Rahm is responsible for anything you wrote.
I don't have an opinion about his job performance so far.
