Heh...from that club dinner. wonder what he said and what Palin's reaction is/was.
No media is allowed but there sure is alot of twittering going on...you kinda have to read each post entry to find the dining twitters

http://search.twitter.com/search?q=palin

More entries:
Palin sitting next to Barbara Bush. Two seats from Gov Sebelius. Just made Larry Craig joke. Rough.

Now makes Palin joke. She takes sip of white wine and laughs.

Here is one of the twitterers (if that is a word) entries so you don't have to scroll thru the whole twitter page:

http://twitter.com/clairecmc

One entry:

Jordan..."McCain should be congratulated. No one has used a plumber more effectively n a Pres campaign since Richard Nixon
------------

Ooooh, I get it now.."ClaireMc from Missouri"..as in the Governor of Missouri. She is twittering.

3. I don't understand Twitter. I signed up but do you have to have a cell?
Is it based on text messaging? I signed up to have ability to type stuff to Don Lemon on CNN and Rick Sanchez but I'm not doign very well at figuring out how it works. I don't have internet access on my phone. Can I do it online?

5. I have no clue
I never signed up to do it cuz, well, my daily life is pretty boring and frankly my friends probably would give me a " :wtf: do we care what you are doing every minute of the day" response...I just stumbled across the twitter website and realized that if you pick a word to search, it will pull up twitter postings that include that word. Brings up some cool postings sometimes.

here is there main page and an answer to what is needed:

8. I set up an account a couple weeks ago but couldn't figure it out.
I think I've just figured out the search thingy because of the link in this thread to "palin". I don'thave any friends who use it, though.

16. Just go here.
www.Twitter.com

You can search for names or certain subjects and if you see someone posting (it's called tweats, not twitters, silly i know) you can subscribe to them so you can keep track of their updates. You can pick up any any ones tweats and respond directly to them as well.

It is kinda boring but it was a lot of fun during the campaign, tweating with don lemon and rick sanchez on CNN.

6. I'm with you. I signed up for Twitter and couldn't figure out what
it was all about right away. Basically, people type very short (1-2 sentence) messages about anything at all. SOmetimes, like now, it can be interesting and informative, most of the time it's boring.

Last week one of the Direct TV channels aired the Presidential Inaguration of Barack Obama and, at the bottom of the screen, streamed the Twitter posts from people who were and tweeting about the inauguration. It was cool.

9. But how do you know what to hook up to linkwise?
Doesn't it take awhile sometimes to get linked? I had some guy add me and I have no idea who he is but he's following me and I haven't twitted a thing yet! lol

15. No, it's a social message site you can just sign up for online
And if you have an iphone or (I'm not sure about other cell services) you can get a twitter app and send your messages that way. It's basically like you constantly updating your myspace or facebook status and everyone on twitter can read it and people can subscribe to you.

11. Ok..I'll rephrase it..someone twittering is using her name and state
Edited on Sat Jan-31-09 11:58 PM by rainbow4321
and has her picture next to their posts.
The previous posts on that twitter have specifics like (paraphrasing) "watch cspan, I'm about to be on" and others have comments about her family, etc.. Looks pretty real..but bottom line, I guess is I am assuming.

Missouri is pretty lucky to have a tech savvy Senator if it is her..pretty cool.

And cuz it is too late to edit my OP..I should have said Senator from Missouri. Ooops.

13. How is "twittering" fundamentally different, from, say, posting a DU thread from your cell phone?
PDA smartphones, Blackberries etc. do this. I could post running DU commentary about someplace that I was.

What makes "Twitter" unique compared to making short posts on any other web forum?

If you subscribe, do you get the automatic new updates "pushed" to your phone or mobile device like a text message? If so, THAT would be a unique feature.

I have no need to be online "on" 24/7.
