AWESOME NEWS!! NOT A SINGLE REPUKE VOTE FOR THE STIMULUS. THEY ARE FUCKED, and FUCK THEM !!
This is so beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeYOUtiFUL !!! The crazy R's just voted themselves into electoral oblivion. The American WANT the Obama stimulus. They WANT change, just as Hoyer said. They WANT to invest in new jobs for the future along with some middle and working class tax relief. They WANT Obama to succeed. Obama and Dems tried. Tried to work with the ReFUCKlicans. And what do they offer new? NOTHING. Just more tax cuts for the rich. It's their answer to everything. Well, these numb fucks just fucked themselves into decades in the minority. Dems should be ECSTATIC !! They are out of step, out of touch, out of ideas, out of reality, out of power, and they will STAY out !! Those dumb fucks just don't get it. They are so fuccking blind. Poor stupid ass bastards !! HURRAY !! And as to trying to work with Repukelicans, FUCK EM ! Yes, FUCK THEM!! Clinton tried, and look what they did to him. Obama and the Dems should say: "FINE. We tried. NOW WE ARE IN POWER, AND BY THE WAY, FUCK YOU !! "

1. Also shows that we don't need to play ball with them to get things done
They shouldn't have taken the family planning parts out and other parts out that the Republicans whined about. If they won't play ball then don't give them anything.

8. They're rolling the dice. They're hoping it has no effect, or that, because times will continue to
get worse, that it will be meaningless to the average citizen. That's the GOP strategy.

They will say "See, we didn't vote to give away YER MONEY!!!! We wanted to give it back to YEW, but Ohhhhh, NOOOOOO...those Democrats took YER money and threw it away!!!!!"

They're betting on WORSE, not BETTER. And they're figuring it'll be bad two years from now, when they're up for reelection.

That's their take on it, IMO.

Best of all, now Obama gets to sigh, "Well, I tried to get along with those Rethug guys, but they refuse to act in the best interests of ALL the American people, not just the ones who can afford to stuff their pockets..." Cue the DU "Cry Me A River" String Quartet!

20. On the other hand Obama now owns the problem and in 2010 when everything
is finally hitting bottom, they will say "see we gave him a chance and he blew it".

The only thing that may save us from losing Congress will be nobody will vote because they will have no address or job.

25. Very underhanded
Obama bent over backwards to try to be conciliatory to those assholes and this is how they respond. And I'm sure they knew all along that they had no intentions of voting for it, while they smiled and preened for the cameras and pretnded to praise Obama.
Fucking shits.

29. Exactly!
Unfortunately, this didn't make much progress towards Obama's goal of making Washington DC a place where one could disagree without being disagreeable - it's pretty clear it will take longer than one week for that to happen.

At the same time, Obama clearly knows he has a country to run, and he has the means to get this stimulus package through with or without the Republicans' help.

30. This is awsome news IF the stimulus works
If not, it may serve as a effective 'I told you so' in the 2010 midterm elections for the Republicans.

32. YIPPEE! Obama is willing to throw people under the bus and receive nothing in return!
Gee, I could have told him that his effort to reach across the aisle would have failed, but he insisted that he needed to throw people under the bus and waste precious time to come to this obvious answer. This isn't a move of genius, this is simply wasting time and pissing away political capital.

34. The important part is that we were perceived as reaching well across the aisle...
and they STILL voted unanimously against it. This will provide the evidence necessary to push an obstructionism charge against them.
