Nancy Pffuffenhuffer was just on MSNBC
giving "reaction" to McCain saying on Fox today that he wouldn't vote for Obama's economic stimulus, because "as far as he knows, there is no incorporation of Republican proposals." Guess it's not Gramm-y enough for McCain. And, there ARE Republican proposals in there, so he should check again . I didn't have the stomach to hear Nancy huff and puff over this, but her bobble head was swaying wildly again. I was hoping that we wouldn't have to see her for awhile. Can Tucker Bounds appearing as a "Republican strategist" far behind? Oh, and of course we get the reject Carly Fiorina on the panel of This Week.

And, on an aside, Bob Woodward was really annoying on the Chris Matthews show today. He said that if Obama's team "investigated the Bush administration/torture, then it would signal that the War on Terror is over, and the United States does not want to do that." Uh, twisted logic there, Bob. He also said mysteriously "The tax and nanny problems are not over for the Obama administration.", and would not elaborate, but just repeated it and smiled. I wish he would do some fucking reporting on it then instead of being passive aggressive, because I am really curious now.

1. What happened to McCain saying he would work with the administration
Guess that already fell by the wayside -- not a surprise.

3. McCain stopped short of saying he would filibuster..
Boehner also left some openings. I think they are bluffing.

4. repubs definition of bipartisan: dems do what we want
or we pout, cry, obstruct, divert attention, use scare tactics, slander, lie, and cheat.

11. One thing the Dems do not understand...to a Republican
bipartisanship is WEAK, which is why they don't do it.

5. Al Gore had to cast the tie-breaking vote for Clinton's budget in 1993.
Edited on Sun Jan-25-09 12:12 PM by AtomicKitten
Every single Repub voted against it.

I expect the same attempt at obstructionism this go, however, this time Obama has cut them off at the pass so I think he'll find the votes.

7. Howard Fineman also
said on the Chris Matthew show today that he is "surprised how Partisan the Republicans are being on the stimulus package." Uh, I'm, not. At all. Granted, I have reservations about it too, but the Repubs were always going to take a partisan line and give shit to Obama for anything that is not 100% their way.

Woodward is just reflecting all of DC here- they all went along with it so investigations are going to taint all of them.

back to the talk shows. During the campaign I wanted to scream at his pretty-faced lies and republican arrogance.

13. This is very unimpressive on Obama's part
Their ideas are BAD, and he is including them at his own peril - and ours. Compromise is fine. but not when the other guy is 100% wrong. There is no halfway point in that case.

Compromising with them makes it seem like they have legitimate points, which they do not, and makes us seem half-right, when we have been 100% right on economic issues all along.

16. So McCain is lashing out trying to find his sanity, his credibility, his
Maverick-iness, and his balls?

Too late. But then again, maybe his testicles are in the bag with that $180,000 worth of clothes at RNC headquarters.

18. Memo to Woodward. Bush's "War on Terror" is over.
Not once has Obama uttered those words and he restarted it as a struggle against violence and terrorism; an attempt to change the way we think and act about it. This is a GOOD thing. Woodward is a scumbag.
