Not exactly the same but it brought to mind the Sand Mandalas that the Tibetan Monks create.
Same attention to detail and requirement of patience.

But, the monks are focused on impermanence. They finish their mandalas and then wind or feet or water or Chinese govt destroy it. As with all of life.

36. Those mandalas are amazing.

I've witnessed the creation and dispersal of a few here in Savannah. At the dispersal of one I was downwind when the monks were dropping the sand into the Savannah river and I got some of that sand blown onto me.

For what it's worth I had gotten a fairly nasty cut on my thumb the day before. The next day it was completely healed.

I'm not at all into mystical heebie jeebies. But that freaked me out more than a little.
