Please don't tell me he is going to keep that stinky Bush rug there for his whole term!

4. Now there's a good reason to keep it for a while.

Maybe he's smarter than I thought -- and I knew he was plenty smart. Get the puppy or puppies housebroken and then get a beautiful new rug!

5. It's not bad,
but I'd like him to have his own and wipe every remnant of Bush out of the Oval Office.

7. Isn't he worried about bugs in the rug?
If not, Dubya will feel snug, if not smug.

8. Isn't he doing it to save money?
I always thought it was silly to redo everything just to suit the tastes of the new occupants. It's not like there's a bunch of ragged furniture sitting around in the White House.

We need to stop spending money on things that aren't necessary. The rug on the floor isn't important at all in the big scheme of things.

20. If I recall correctly
There's actually something like an entire warehouse full of White House furniture and decorative objects once can choose from, generally left behind by former residents. Getting a new carpet wouldn't necessarily mean making a new purchase.

10. It'll be there until a new rug is designed and made.
I hope it doesn't take too long. I don't like the current rug. Reminds too much of boosh... :puke:

11. Freeper-types were making fun of what might have been all over Bill Clinton's rug when Bush moved in
but I'll bet that if Obama were to walk on Bush's rug barefoot, his feet would go numb and he'd start talking really fast.

13. I'd get rid of it - Bush apparently liked to let 'em rip there in front of new
interns - for "fun"

At least get a brand new one even if you keep the design.

I would hope Obama changes the color of those drapes & has a new rug made soon though.
