John Roberts couldn't get it right--from memory, at his age (the youngest justice on the Court). Meanwhile...John Paul Stevens--age 84, I think--had to administer a much longer oath to Joe Biden, did it from memory, and got it--perfectly. It's funny how many right-wing nutjobs think that means Obama isn't really president. I'm almost surprised Chris Wallace over at FOX hasn't started an e-mail and letter-writing campaign.

At noon (when Barrack actually became president) I started tearing up (yeah, I admit it), turned to my wife and said: "It's finally over--the new era has started". It's really the most wonderful thing to be living during a Democratic Administration again!

To everyone/anyone who thinks the minor flub in the swearing-in has any bearing on Obama's status as POTUS, the 20th Amendment to the Constitution explicitly states:

"The terms of the President and Vice President shall end at noon on the 20th day of January ... and the terms of their successors shall then begin."


The swearing in/oath of office is immaterial. Period. End of story. The freepers can just STFU. Now.
