| I'm Totally Drained From Just Watching All The Events On TV |
|
My kids had both Monday & Tuesday off school this week and we watched everything together. I was invited to all kinds Inauguration parties, watch parties, balls and even offered a free bus ride to DC to see it from the Mall. But I decided to stay hone and make this a family celebration. We watched the "Whistle Stop" on Saturday first. I only live about 45 minutes from Wilmington and I thought about going but it was just too damn cold. I have been to several Obama events and I knew it would be a long wait in the cold just to see him for a few minutes. Sunday we watched the "We Are One" concert together (that entire show was awesome). Monday we watched a replay of the "I Have A Dream" speech and later that night I watched the "Kids Ball" with my 13 year old while my older boy was over at his girlfriend's house. Today we watched all the Inauguration coverage from the time we got up until they went to bed tonight, and I kept watching the the coverage of the rest of the balls. It has been a very fufilling 4 days spending that kind of quality time with them, watching history being made in HD. We had a lot of great conversations too. I was amazed at a lot of the things they knew and the people they recognized, and especially at some of the intelligent questions they asked today. Now that it's all over I'm emotionally drained though.

it all together and I made him write a one page paper covering his thoughts about the day. He didn't even give me lip about it. He was happy to write it! What a great weekend we all had!
