One of the Best Things About Democracy

Take a Resident like the Shrub, the illegitimately selected. I absolutely despise the man and his presidency. And now he's gone. He's gone without right-minded people having had to take up arms against him. It takes awhile, but a democracy can correct its mistakes and reorient itself without massive internal bloodletting. In a different time and place, it would have taken revolution to ply George's hands from his ill-gotten hold on the power of the presidency.

What the Russians used to do in bleak Russian Winters under communism was drink vodka like fishes in water and have lots and lots of sex. Sex as an act of political protest. That doesn't happen in a democracy so much, I guess.
