I just waved to Barack Obama as he took the train to Washington!
We stood on a bridge overlooking the tracks and waved at the train as Barack traveled through West Philly. We didn't see Obama, but got a nice "honk" from the train engineer!

I'm frozen solid, but it was fun!

Here are some pics:

Obama's train as it approached the bridge

Obama's vintage train car

The back of the train (had to run across the street to get this shot)

The 49th St. bridge crew who froze their butts off to send our 44th President off to Washington.

Philly loves Obama!

11. Thanks. Just some random people who assembled on a bridge...
...to give our 44th President our best wishes.

People kept driving up and asking if he had gone by yet. When they heard he hadn't, they found somewhere to ditch their car and came up. But the police were very vigilant to keep cars from stopping on the bridge. And police helicopters kept circling us overhead, checking us out. I'm both grateful that the security was so tight and that they still allowed people to stand by and wave. We could see people standing on other bridges in the distance.

It was quite an experience.

13. Found a story on the car.
Not FDR's, but it has been used by more recent Presidents.
