"They hated our Lord, too" Barf Alert
Holly Coors, mother of Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Peter Coors, gets a drawing of her smiling mug and a story in the Sept. 13 New Yorker.
Coors is overheard talking to fellow Rangers (big contributors to the GOP) at the Ritz-Carlton in NYC during the Republican Convention.

"Pete's got it all," she says of her boy. "Pete wants to love people."

She goes on to say that George W. Bush has vision. "It's his faith. It breaks my heart when they criticize him. They hated our Lord, too."

5. Us godless liberals, that's who.
Even semi-godless moderates like me.

What is with these people? What kind of weird drug makes people talk like that? It sure ain't the one Huey Lewis was talking about.

11. Hypocrites hated Jesus, Martin Luther King and Bill Clinton. The mindset
of hypocrisy. It's a character flaw shared by humans since the beginning of "civilization".

6. Yup, those Roman and religious conservatives sure did hate Jesus
I think it was because he spoke out against the way the law (religous and secular) treated the poor...

8. Oh, can the "man of faith" shtick already.
Jesus went about the land preaching to crowds that weren't pre-screened and patted down, as far as I know, and healed people rather than counseling them to get health savings accounts. He turned to the poor, the sick, the outcast, the morally suspect. There were no Pioneers and no Rangers in His crowd.

And it was the powerful, not the prostitute, the centurion, or the leper, who crucified Him.

The God I know, and the God they THINK they know are the same God. Fortunately he is a very forgiving God...
