1. It's certainly looking less likely
But with the madness in Gaza, and the Likud propaganda mill trying desperately to tie Iran into it, I can't say we're completely out of the Reynolds Wrap woods yet. :tinfoilhat:

a very hard time pulling anything off at this time, in view of what most Americans and the rest of the world think of him, but one never knows.

Edited to say:

I'm not sure that the military would go along with anything like military law by this dumb ass at this point.

4. No shit..there's that tiny part of my brain that reacts in fear, He's not gone yet.
I also cannot believe he'd get away with it, but holy cow, after 8 years of expecting the most ghastly crimes from Bush, I guess its just 'conditioning'.
Little a**hole better just pack his shit & leave quietly.

Best thing he could ever do to really keep America safe is to just effin leave.

6. The moran will continue to scare the shit outta me until January 21st and ...
the door actually hits him in the ass. He has to be thinking all the time that there are going to be investigations after he leaves and charges could very well be brought against he and his ilk...... (Wishful thinking perhaps, but here's hoping)

20. agreed
In the past I would have said it is possible. After the Presser I think he is heavily self medicated. That being said it is possible that he could have a meltdown and tarnish his legacy further. Not that he won't leave office, but yesterday could have been a prelude to something more damaging, hate to be one of his advisor's, because he appears seriously unstable.

Think about some of the celebrity melt downs and how something they did seemed to be a bit off (and that presser was more than a bit off) only to be followed by something completely stupid. Hopefully they have him on a very short leash because he can do a lot more damage that driving his sports car into a pole or shooting himself in the thigh with his gun.

8. I'm not predicting, and I haven't seen "predictions" per se...
And the tinfoil thing is really insulting... just saying. You should google up some CT's that have been proven true, then stick your tinfoil...

Anything is possible with the Chimperor. I would have said you were full of bovine excrement if you had told me 9 years ago that a POTUS would lead us into an unnecessary war based on bogus, cherry picked, and failed intelligence. But we all know how that one turned out.

If you don't want people taking pot shots at your beliefs, religious or otherwise, you should lay off the tinfoil bullshit.

Sorry if this seems stronger than necessary. I'm sick and tired of people deciding what is and what is not good reason for belittling the beliefs and feelings of others.

10. If you have never seen such predictions here, you haven't been paying attention
Here's one thread, and there are a number of others.

The fears expressed here that chimpy would declare martial law or find some other way to stay in office past Jan 20, 2009 were irrational then and are irrational now.

11. Irrational is a strong word
Edited on Tue Jan-13-09 06:10 PM by Juniperx
I thought my b/f was being irrational when he said "Well, we'll be in a war before you know it!" when Bush "won" the first election.

I've seen it expressed as fear, and any fear of this administration is valid. I see you had to go way back to April to find an example of what might be considered a prediction.

Edited to say... he was "declared" president... how many people would you have accussed of wearing their tinfoil too tight if you'd been told that little tidbit a year before?

12. Why do you think they are irrational? They were rational then and this is the week....
Edited on Tue Jan-13-09 06:19 PM by LakeSamish706
that could/will be very scary IMO. Bush/Cheney et. all know that they have not gotten rid of all evidence to their crimes and who knows to what limits they might go to prevent going to jail.

Edited to say:

You, like all of us have an opinion, but you don't know what is going to occur in this final week. Anything is possible with this bunch of lunatics, as we have witnessed in the past 8 years.

15. because in the real world, there is no chance -- none, zip, nada -- that it would happen
I know you don't believe it. And I would be willing to bet my house that it won't happen. Will you bet five dollars that it will?

18. I wouldn't bet either way, but having witnessed these scum bags for 8 years....
I don't rule anything out. For the most part I am pretty certain that they are going, and it would take some brass balls to pull anything off that would change it, but until the final day, who knows?

To enact martial law you need something martial behind it and since Gates is still the Secretary of Defense under the new administration, it's unlikely the Pentagon will care any more that he is still commander-in-chief. I doubt if they would do anything even if he demanded it.

the criminal *Bushco administration or any of their evil minions. They've done things I never thought I'd see anyone do - and they've gotten away with it...so far.

I'm not predicting, and never have predicted it. But I would'nt be surprised at anything.
