Re: Minnesota Senate Race

You can't keep counting until you get the results you like.

Get over it.

1. P.S.
I hope you do the right thing and concede, because the senate, the nation, and the people of Minnesota don't want to see this decided in the courts. Right? Seems like you said something like that...

"Coleman urged Franken to waive his right to a recount, saying that the prospect of changing the result was remote and that a recount would be costly to taxpayers (about $86,000)."

16. because he is following MN law

first the canvassing board has to certify the count then the law allows the loser 7 days to file a legal challenge. If there is none then he can certify not before.

The question no is does Coleman want to spend millions and make himself look stupid by continuing to litigate or does he want to break personal history and attempt to look classy.

9. Don't you think that Al would be doing the same thing if he were only a few votes behind?
I am no fan of Coleman, but it always works this way in an election that is this close.

11. Sure, that's why it was stupid
for Coleman to call on Franken not to fight when he thought he was ahead only to then fight to the death once he ended up behind. It's the statement that makes him look unprincipled. Franken said nothing one way or the other except that he wanted all the votes counted fairly.

13. Isn't that what Repugs were crying about back in 2000 ?
They couldn't let the election drag out a little while longer and used SCOTUS to derail a legitimate recount and essentially told Gore (and the rest of us) to go jump off a cliff. Surely then they should understand why Al Franken, since it appears that he got the most votes, lawfully won the election and should be certified the winner and seated. Of course, counting and re-counting the votes over and over again until (maybe) Coleman gets enough votes to win is o.k. since he is a Repug after all. :eyes:

If he actually concedes this week, I'll eat a shoe.

17. lol well he may be politicaly tone deaf but I bet he knows withing 2 cents what his
check book balance is. He quits now and concedes he will look good and save his pocket book hundreds of thousands of dollars.

If Coleman were to prevail in the court - highly doubtful - he would then have to personally pay for future recount efforts.
