Why John Kerry is Losing Democrats - Max Burns article
Why John Kerry Is Losing Democrats

By Max Burns

Sept. 13, 2004

This election has hit a new political low. It cannot even be called political at this point, and saying it is a low would signify that there is no room to sink further. All of the smear and trash from both sides, I say both side to remain as nonpartisan as I can, has disenchanted more voters than any campaign before. The smear attack against Andrew Jackson wasn’t even this low.

What does it say about the state of our Union when Vietnam, a war that has been over for thirty years, is still a major campaign issue?

They're not "former," they want their party back dagnabit!

One of the guys I go to church with used to be a Barry Goldwater conservative. This is NOT his party any more, he says.

7. And to whom, exactly, is John Kerry losing Dems to?
Bush? Nader? Dems who "all of a sudden" are deciding they'd rather not vote than vote for Kerry?

This is my 2nd "Give me a GD break" today.

What crap.

11. WTF?
Not to yell at you, liberal til I die, but I've about had a gulletful of these idjit "Kerry is doomed" stories. Front page of the SF Chronicle today was about the Kerry campaign taking a beating recently. This, imho, is the democratic version of "Kerry's a flip-flopper." A meaningless sound-bite designed to make the speaker sound clever. It's a bunch of hooey.

Hellooooo! Kitty Kelley's book is out today. Late last week and now this week, reputable news organizations are inspecting *'s guard records and finding that no way in Hades did the chimpster do his duty. So, tell me Kerry's getting pounded??? Only in the overheated brains of pundits with a bit too much self-esteem.

Now, Kerry losing democrats? Fuggedaboutit. * is losing republicans, independents, Log Cabin Republicans and everyone else who isn't a mouth-breathing cave dweller.

15. Max Burns is an INDIANA Democrat, hell, that's almost Republican
I would like to know just WHICH Democrats Kerry is losing.

Also, I would bet a month's salary that the turnout for the 2004 election will be greater than any over the last 30 years, so I don't think there's a lot of disenchantment going on.

Although, I do agree that this campaign is as nasty as they get, well lately. Mr. Burns needs to look at what was done to Thomas Jefferson, and he needs to take a look at the Hamilton - Burr duel and the rationale behind it.
