Good Signs for Labor: Obama's Great Choice for Sec'y of Labor: The Nation

"After eight years of a president who turned a blind eye to working men and women, the pendulum may be set to swing dramatically in the other direction. News reports indicate that Barack Obama is considering Mary Beth Maxwell, executive director of the pro-labor American Rights at Work, to be his new Secretary of Labor. Maxwell is being touted heavily by former Michigan Congressman David Bonior, campaign manager to John Edwards and a staunch ally of organized labor.

If chosen, Maxwell would be the first openly gay cabinet member. She's also a staunch advocate of top union priorities, such as the passage of the Employee Free Choice Act, enforcing existing labor laws, fighting for economic equality and protecting workers from discrimination. ...."

PE Obama has exceeded expectation and it was pretty high to start with.
