Edited on Tue Nov-25-08 11:22 AM by oviedodem
Not a little NOTHING!!

I have listened to Obama for the last 2 days talk about the economy and realize that he knows more about basic economics by himself than Bush ever knew; governor or not.

THen I realize that Obama was an economics minor in college (Occidental) so he is not totally ignorant and does not solely have to rely on his advisors for info. If there was ever an indictment on making sure the president is versed in basic economic theory you are looking at.

Imagine if McCain/Palin was in the WH we would be so screwed that it would be practically insurmountable for the future. It is clear that McCain/Palin were so ignorant of economics which resulted in the lack of a coherent message.

Thank God for brains in the WH!!!

2. of course he needs to rely on advisors.
An undergraduate Econ major does not an economist make.

And of course junior knows nothing of economics, or history (he was a history major), or anything else of value except how to par-ty.

5. True
But at least he'll understand what they tell him, and won't need it explained with hand puppets or use promises of cookies to keep his attention.

enough to understand what the advisers tell him

3. After 9-11 someone in a news conference asked Bush about
the stock market and instead of an informative answer, the idiot said, "I'm not a stock-picker". I knew he was ignorant, this was just more fuel to confirm it.

4. Bush doesn't know ANYTHING about ANYTHING.
He follows orders from some higher power, who or what that may be we'll probably never know. Perhaps the guy is just crazy as shit and hears voices in his head that he thinks are real. Alcohol and drug abuse can do that to you, when you don't have many functional brain cells to spare in the first place.

Bush comes from a long line of self-serving crooks, thieves, and opportunists, always sucking the public tit. It's the way that family has always done business.

Honestly, I don't know why anyone expected anything but failure out of the man. He's even a failure at being a human.

Edited on Tue Nov-25-08 11:41 AM by YOY
Dumb fucks given a degree as if they actually studied for it and no talent to follow suit. I can name people I know that have no idea what hard work means. Guess how much they earn now versus what I earn.

Which makes me proud of my BA from Illinois State. We weren't allowed to pass a course without having learned anything.

Ironically the same assholes who bitch about the "MBA President" everytime Zippy the Blueblood Preznit is brought up and are corrected everytime.

Congrats on that. You're biased against a whole group of people with degrees you know nothing about.

Ironically the ones who studied the least usually get the farthest. All about connections and nothing to do with analysis or knowledge...let alone talent or business sense.

11. You aren't just now realizing this, are you?
I mean, it was pretty obvious from Bush's history that he can't manage his way out of a paper bag. He trashed the state of Texas. He brought down every company he's ever been involved with - and he was in the oil business during an oil boom! That's hard to do.

Bush is not just inept - he has a kind of reverse-magic ability to destroy everything he touches. Some of us call it the reverse-Midas touch.

12. "I realize that Obama was an economics minor in college (Occidental) so he is not totally ignorant "
I don't believe that Obama is ignorant at all, let alone "not totally".

Understanding economic matters isn't just about a degree, or what one studied at school....as you already know. It has to do with the type of practical experience one has had, as well as one's intelligence in grasping complex issues. Obama, as a community organizer, is well aware how local and state government work in terms of budgeting....and is familiar with those issues based on his time as a State Senator, and as a US Senator.

The difference between Obama and Bush are massive, and that is why I consider Obama to be a literal anti-Bush. Whatever Bush was not good at, Obama is. And since Bush wasn't any good at shit other than fucking up, we are in pretty good hands with anti-Bush, President Elect Obama.

22. Obama is a systems thinker ... and a facilitator more than an autocrat.
Systems thinking is evident in his exposition in that he's visibly regarding the relationships between the elements of the system rather than focusing on some description of the elements themselves. While it doesn't appear he's a 'natural' systems thinker (we're fewer than 1 in 100), he's clearly schooled in that approach.

23. Bush knew how to run a business.
He promised to run the country like a business and he did. He ran it like he ran all his businesses, right into the ground. Was nobody paying attention when he first ran for office? Funny, I don't remember the corporate media bringing up all his failures.

29. Watching a piece on G.H.W the other day, there was a sliver of a segment...
that showed dub'ya running round his dad's limo all wild-eyed & discombobulated looking this way & that like he was high as a lab rat er'somthin...then a security dude grabbed his arm and he was jolted all "huh what!", but then poppy gave dub 'the look' and quite nearly snapped his fingers pointing as if to say, "George! Get over here!" pointing back behind the entourage look here now...

This bush kid has only been following orders the whole time, orders from his handlers. Others have said the part he really liked about his dad being in the WH, was that he could snap *his* fingers and get a PB&J sammich brought to him at 3am if that's what suited him, or indeed a bag of pretzels which he's had a hell of a time negotiating if history has anything to say about it...

g.w. bush has never *had* to know what he was talking about. His fate has all been a foregone conclusion. And the lives he has destroyed may as well have been made from tinker toys for all he cared end of story,

I wish there were a way to pack up his shit and run him out of DC today!! The world has suffered from this Bush Family long enough

31. Has he ever displayed knowledge on any subject?
Bush is a total meat puppet. He makes his father look like a Renaissance man. Never have I been so embarrassed to be an American.

Obama is going to do just great. He's not going to be perfect but I believe he is going to listen, absorb, learn, reflect and put his shoulder to the wheel. There will be no weekends cutting brush on a potemkin ranch pretending to be a cowboy.
