No one likes Blago, but Blago doesn't seem to care. So who will run against him in the 2010 Democratic primary? And who should run against him?
And speaking of Blagojevich, soon he will appoint a replacement for Barack Obama in the United States Senate. A lot depends on who exactly he selects, of course, but do you see any notable Republicans taking a stab at the seat in 2010? Mark Kirk, perhaps?

1. Lisa Madigan said she was running yesterday

All the hub bub about who he will appoint as Senator forced her to finally stop playing coy and say out loud what everyone in this state knew five years ago.

She is not inetersted in the appointment and is "considering" running in the primaries against him in the next election.

My concern is that Blago will appoint Emil Jones for the 2 year stint as a reward for covering Blago's ass on things like ethics reform. Emil is already retiring with at least two state pensions. That appointlent could be far better used by a serious long term candidate establishing themselves as a good interim Senator and a viable longer term candidate like Jesse Jr, or anyone of a number of electable people state wide.

I agree that Mark Kirk is a likely Senate candidate for the GOP next time around. I think Christine Radogno may run for Governor in the GOP primary.
