In answering Bush's "challenge" to Kerry of whether the world is not
better now with Saddam is gone, perhaps Kerry can reply that the world is still a dangerous place with whathisnmae from North Korea still hording real WDM but it seems that this administration really does not care.

And he can talk about terrorism - where, the pundits tell us, Bush has the lead - on how our intervention in Iraq just caused the proliferation of terrorist cells there, and, BTW, what is happening in Afghanistan? Seems that bin Laden and his buddies are alive and well and still taunting the U.S. So much for Bush Cheney being the "tough guys" who can handle terrorism.

I do hope, really, that Kerry has direct responses.. no "on the one hand" and "on the other hand." We are talking catch phrases here, unfortunately.

1. What Kerry should say: W is for War, W is Wrong
Are we better off than we were four years ago economically?

Are we better off than we were four years ago in terms of health care?

Are we better off than we were four years ago in terms of jobs and employment?

Are we better off than we were four years ago in terms of national security?

Yes, it's good that Saddam is gone, but the reality is that we are no safer today than we were when Saddam was still in power. There are, in fact, more terrorists than ever before, Al Qaida is still at large, Osama Bin Laden is still at large, and we need to build the kinds of alliances -- alliances with other nations -- that George W. Bush and Dick Cheney demolished in their rush to go to war with Iraq on bad evidence, alliances that will help us track down and put an end to terrorists and terrorism anywhere in the world, and make the United States and the world truly safer than we are now, and safer than we have been during these four years of George W. Bush's presidency.

And if you elect me, as President, I will guarantee that I will fight to truly make the United States secure. B-)

2. The world is more dangerous now...
...because your didn't plan to secure the peace in Iraq. Everyone dispised Saddam, and we're all glad he's gone, but the fact is that we as a nation are less secure because of your idiotic policies. Iraq is on fire and is now a haven for terrorists when it wasn't before. And there is no end in sight because all you can do is say "Stay the course". This course will take us right over a cliff.

That is my recommended response, and I'm sticking to it.

3. Kerry's reply (should be...)
"Bush's own US State Department's report says NO, the world is NOT better off; the world is LESS SAFE."

Checkmate.
