Most 'undervotes' cast in counties won by Obama
An analysis of ballots that had a vote for president but no vote for U.S. senator could have recount implications.

An Associated Press analysis of the nearly 25,000-vote difference in Minnesota presidential and U.S. Senate race tallies shows that most ballots lacking a recorded Senate vote were cast in counties won by Democrat Barack Obama.

There were at least 70 undervotes for senator at the precinct where I was a challenger at and another 50 or so overvotes where the voter voted to more than one candidate.

3. Not to burst your Franken bubble but undervotes do not translate to election fraud.
People are not being programmed to vote the WHOLE Democratic ticket. A LOT of the Obama voters stopped with Obama.

It happened in Orange County FL where Obama won and the two Congressional candidates won, the sheriff's candidate won and two of the three incumbent state house members won but generally everyone else lost.

Obama won the county by 19% - there should have been NO Dem losers if Obama's coat-tails mattered there. They didn't carry down ballot very far though.

The difference: The Dem winners had high name recognition and a following. The Dem losers did not.

The local parties have to work MUCH HARDER and the down ballot candidates have to work much harder if they want to get elected.

6. A lot of Obama voters were no doubt independents so
there's no guarantees that they even WOULD vote straight down the ticket...

Your take on this is based on the fact that you are a dedicated Dem from MN. You are too close to it to see it for what it is.

7. This isn't a question of fraud. This is just an extremely close race, and when these ballots
are hand-counted, this story is implying that the bubble that Minnesotans have to fill out on their paper ballots just might not have been filled out enough.
